Mr C's Fried Chicken and Waffles

Horrible customer service. I asked for my pork chops to not e fried in fish grease because of an allergy. The manager told me that they couldn’t serve me because they cook EVERYTHING in the same fryer!🤮I will never go there again

Best Chicken & Waffles in the city! Very casual, laid-back vibe. Perfect lunch spot. Service is always welcoming and quick.

Not what I expected the fried chicken was delicious but it was neglected next to sweet corn, greens, Mac n cheese corn bread and green beans. By far the best fried chicken and sides I’ve ever had nearly criminal. No picture nothing left. Definitely try kool-Ange fruit punch. Thanksgiving cravings have disappeared

Always drive by and have never tried them before so decided to stop by. Chicken was lacking spices and wait time was forever! Was not expecting such a long wait time. Chicken is cooked fresh in their defense but I had 2 drumsticks that took at least 30 minutes to come out.

Arrived before a mid morning rush, only to have to wait because none of the smaller tables had been cleaned. As we waited, three tables were sat ahead of us including a large group.

No one came by to take our drink order for 5 minutes, and it was another 15 before we could even order food. After ordering, it was a 25 minute wait for two plates and a child’s plate, well after all the other tables that were sat ahead of us got their food.

Once my food was brought, the wrong chicken was prepared, and they let me know it would be another 7 minutes before they had it.

Having waited well over 45 minutes since walking in, we decided to leave. They were kind enough to offer to comp the food but I declined.

Service seemed chaotic from the beginning, they couldn’t figure out who was going to clean which was the start of all the issues. Disappointed I didn’t get to try the food because everyone else’s plates looked good. Didn’t feel right taking the food, so we simply sent it back.

2 stars for the visually appealing food and they at least cleaned the tables pretty well.

The chicken was absolutely delicious. It was so flavorful!! It did not have a lot of salt which was great. The waffles surprised us, because they huge and thick. Next time we need to order 1 waffle. That was more than enough. The grits had a perfect consistency. Enjoyed every last bite. The food here was Fantastic, and had been added to our favorite places we receive delivery from. I have to add that the packaging of each item was great. They took care of each item and it wasn't sloppily put together.

So disappointed. Was really looking forward to a good hot chicken, and these hot tenders tasted like a mix between watered down hot sauce and Chinese sweet and sour sauce. I could not get past the flavor to be able to eat them. Then their fries… they were limp and seemed like they were microwaved then seasoned. The flavor was good, but couldn’t get past the undercooked aspect to eat them. I will say if nothing else, they did have pretty good deviled eggs.
They were not busy, and my food was sitting on the counter ready to go when I arrived, so I can’t even use they were rushing as an excuse for the imperfections. Overall disappointed.

We have been to Mr C’s twice now and Amanda has been our server both times. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I always get some flavored mimosa, I always try their different flavors. What really gets my though is the chicken fried chicken. It’s the BEST I have ever had. My husband has tried a couple different things including shrimp and grits that he loved. Amanda is always I super attentive waitress, her service is impeccable. We can’t wait to go back!

The only reason I will continue eating here is because the food is top tier. I was so disappointed with my visit today. I waited almost 15 minutes to be greeted, and when I was, it was very short and hurried. Placed my toddlers order and didn’t see my server for another 15 minutes. My kids food took another 20-30 minutes to come and we never got any cornbread or check in’s and my drink stayed empty until I literally stopped her from passing me. I asked another server for the cornbread and she rolled her eyes. I’ll probably order to go from now on.

Southern food, which I know a lot about! I grew up in the center of the true South, Mississippi! So Southern that we are very pick about our food and sweet ice tea!
This place has fried green tomatoes, fried oakra, fried gizzards and of course fried chicken! Even smothered pork chop! Awesome breakfast, I had an omelet with bacon! Hubby had chicken and waffles! Now I have to go back and try the everything else! Yum!
