Are not the rich to be asked. I can’t believe the manager asked everybody how’s their food except us. How rude.. and for the server it’s 3 out 5👎👎👎👎

I called this morning to inquire about mariachis and was told they were available after 5pm monday through Friday and that you get birthday flan and a song upon request. I wanted to make a big deal for my dad's birthday and that seemed perfect soI made a reservation for my family at 5. Our server was very nice and the restaurant was beautiful. We received chips and bean dip as well as colorful salsas. Different! We ordered choriqueso as an appetizer which was flavorful but quickly became solid so not piping fresh when it came out. I ordered the chile en nogada special for september. The food was good but a bit cold for my tastes. The family fajitas with rib eye, shrimp wrapped in bacon and chile replleno was sizzling hot. It was a good value. Plenty of tortillas, guac, and sides to go around for my mom dad and sister who shared.

Unfortunately the mariachis never came. Apparently I was misinformed. I wad very upset as I wouldn't have come at all to be frank.

However as promised the staff sang to my dad , gave him a mariachi hat, and brought some caramel flan!

There was even a photographer who took our photo. You can have a free copy but I liked them so much I ordered 3 at 12 dollars each.

It was a nice experience but the food freshness and miscommunication about the mariachi are 2 points I would improve upon.

Cannot stress how gorgeous and clean the restaurant was.

I'm new to San Antonio and I wanted to have a day where I can walk around shop and have a good meal and this place past the test. The staff was great. Even got a chance to meet the pr manager, and sparked up a conversation with two locals. Just an absolutely fabulous experience. Even got to stay and listen to the house band. That was very nice.

My wife and I visited Palenque Grill and we had the best experience ever! General Manager Xóchitl and Catering Manager Johnny were absolutely the most welcoming folks. They made us feel right at home like family, the food was excellent, and the restaurant is a gem in San Antonio. My wife and I visit many restaurants all over San Antonio, and this by far is one with 5 star service, great food, gorgeous location, and an amazing atmosphere. We’ll be back soon.

While the food at Palenque Grill was enjoyable, the service we received from Ramon was very disappointing. After realizing we only planned to order an appetizer and drinks, his attentiveness declined significantly. He did not refill our iced tea or water. We felt disregarded as customers and will not be returning.
