My family and I definitely enjoyed our stay here at The Maverick downtown San Antonio. I absolutely love what they've done to the place our room was very clean beds were comfortable and guest services was outstanding. DALY went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable she had so many great recommendations. Thanks Daly

I was in San Antonio to celebrate my eldest sister 75th birthday. I chose the Maverick for location and apartment feel. It was very quaint! Steps from The Riverwalk too! My
Sister lives in Converse but chose to spend the weekend with me here! She loved the quaint feel of the room. The best customer service by Crystal plus all the other staff too. I highly recommend The Maverick. Also the best breakfast sandwich’s around is a block away at La Panderia!! Sorry no pics! I ate it too fast!!

The hotel is well located, with everything within walking distance. However, the breakfast leaves much to be desired. They provide a coupon for a restaurant, but it only covers one small taco and black coffee. Additionally, the hotel does not have its own parking, so you will need to use a nearby public parking lot that costs $10 per day. Although this is not the hotel's fault, it is worth mentioning that there is a noticeable presence of homeless individuals in the area. Overall, the hotel is decent, but the information provided during check-in is limited, and the staff seems to do only the bare minimum required. Rating: 3 stars.

Check in was smooth and perfect. The rooms are clean, nicely designed and appointed. My only complaint is the attention to details; my first room had a non-functioning tv. It took three trips and almost two hours to address the remote control; which eventually led to the the final repair/technician serviceman brining his entire remotes and batteries—saying it’s the tv. So they eventually texted me and said I need to repack and move to another room. Well I just spent 30+ minutes unpacking two coolers into the fridge and was trying to relax. It slightly fumed me; but the second women who just came in on her shift had to receive my frustrations (which I apologized for). She moved me and provided some beverages to help with my inconvenience.

Even with my slight discomfort with the tv-remote/changing of rooms—I recommend this hotel for its value.

One last thing—if you’re picky about mattresses; the pads are just okay; it could use a thicker topper. The pillows were very good. Toilet paper was the softer brand. Nice spa soaps and lotions. Plus my dog approves of the hotel. It’s what makes a hotel experience.

Love the location of this spot. Easy access to the river walk, love that they have valet service, laundry on premises. Very friendly staff who are helpful, plus a quick & easy checkin. Online booking was a breeze.

Room was clean, spacious and the little touches everywhere was a wonderful bonus.

They provide earplugs and eye masks for your comfort so you can rest well.

This is the most misleading property description. They show photos of rooms that don’t match the actual accommodations. Our apartment was dirty, the beds and pillows are so very uncomfortable THEY DON’T HAVE MATTRESS PROTECTORS. The bed sheets are old, stained, paper thin, pilling and one of hours looked recycled. As in not changed. The duvet had a round dark stain, impossible that the cleaning team didn’t see that. Not for the SHOWER and BATHROOM. It was disgusting. There was hair on the sink, behind the toiled seat and the shower had mold in every corner. Slimy and short pieces of hair piled in the shower corners. The sink didn’t drain properly so every time you use it, it takes a while to drain. The rugs in the rooms are unraveling, dirty and stained. I have no idea where they got the photos they use online. The walls are cracking, the iron had burnt fabric stuck to it therefore useless.
If you like Motel 6, you’re going to be just fine here. If you want a clean place, you won’t.
The apartment is also dark and the AC cools well on the living area but the rooms are so hot you sweat at night.

This hotel is so beautiful and very comfortable. Its located in the heart of Downtown San Antonio just minutes from the river walk. The beds here were so nice and the staff were very welcoming. Crystal was the hostess who checked us in and she was extremely helpful and gracious to my family and me. Everyday she greeted us with a friendly smile and she was always very helpful and polite.

Loved the location. Clean Apartment. Great environment. Walking distance to any and everything that San Antonio has to offer. Our Host Crystal was very polite and definitely made me and my family’s stay so much easier by accommodating us with anything we needed and then some.

I recently stayed at The Maverick, powered by Placemakr, after booking it through Hotwire as a 4-star hotel, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I arrived around 11 p.m. after a long flight, only to find the main entrance locked with no staff available. I had to call and leave a voicemail before someone finally opened the door. Upon entering my room, I noticed it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, with visible dust. I only wanted to use the coffee maker and the electronic oven—neither was working. I requested a replacement for the coffee maker the day after I arrived, and it was eventually changed, but the oven remained unusable. Although I was told maintenance had been scheduled, no one ever came to fix it. Additionally, the room was quite noisy due to ongoing construction outside, late-night disturbances, and early morning trash pickup. The windows did little to block the sound, making it difficult to get restful sleep. On the day of checkout, I was ready to leave at 8:30 a.m., but again, no one was at the front desk. I had to send a text, and after about 15 minutes, someone finally showed up. While the interior design was adequate and the Wi-Fi worked well, the overall experience fell far short of what I expected from a 4-star property, due to poor communication, lack of staff availability, and inadequate soundproofing.

This hotel was phenomenal. The location was close to everything and steps from the riverwalk. The rooms had everything you could need and were very comfortable. The hotel staff were so sweet and very accommodating. It was very reasonably priced. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This was my 1st time staying at The Maverick, and I must say the pictures online did its justice! When I arrived I was greeted by the valet guy. He’s name is Romello, very attentive and such a gentleman.
We paid $42 for overnight parking for valet, but it’s sooo worth it!

The front desk reception ladies were very welcoming and very serviceable. They had such a popsicle hyped attitude.

This place made me feel like if I was in New York, which I loved even more. Very clean, organized and it smells sooooo good! I’d definitely stay here again. 10/10
