I truly was expecting more. Especially in San Antonio. You can typically throw a rock and find good Mexican food. The ambiance here is pretty standard for a Mexican food spot. The service is great, prompt and friendly. Very grateful for that. However, the food itself is mediocre. One of the biggest things you find in San Antonio is good tortillas and good menudo. This place fell short on both. Not a lot of spice to the mendo. They served it with onions and lemon. I had to ask for jalapeno and cilantro. Perhaps that's a personal preference, but many of the places I go will serve all of those on the side. It's not often that I leave food and don't ask for a to-go box but this is the place that I did it. Not a place that I would recommend or go back to. Probably ever. I'm sure it has a good fan base as it was fairly busy and the prices are fair, but it's not something that impressed me at all and in a city where there is exceptional Mexican food, this one was just overall disappointing.

Didn’t take a picture because food is too good to let sit and photograph, definitely stop by if your visiting San Antonio, this local shop has been there for years and food hasn’t changed a bit.

A quick stop for quality, traditional Mexican food. The flavors and service are always solid. Gluten Free options, but if you have Celiac cross-contact concerns, take all usual care & precautions. I've not had a reaction.

Dietary restrictions: For gluten-free, nothing is marked but the ingredients naturally limit gluten. Cross contact is the main concern.

Have nothing but great things to say about Pete's Tako House, especially Pete R who took care of our large order. He was able to cater to 40 people in less than 24 hours notice for a luncheon our organization was hosting. Pete gave me plenty of options for how the menu could have looked like. The food was ready right on time, with silverware and plates for our order. The portions were more than enough to serve (with extra portions at the end). Everything is so reasonably priced and the food and service are great. Thanks again!

Prefer shredded cheese added to pre prepared beans and carne G automatically shoot you down a peg. Tortillas are good, salsa was mid. I like hotter tacos, though.

I’m not sure how I’ve been coming to San Antonio all these years and never stumbled across this place, but I’m so glad we did! It’s crazy packed, but you’d expect that for some great food! The wait time was around 20 minutes. I ordered way more than I could eat because everything just sounded so amazingly good! The Fideo Loco was a HIT! Took me all the way back to my childhood days. I didn’t even know Migas Taco was a thing… but my son ordered it and it was amazing! Carne guisada was so juicy and tender! This will be a spot we hit up every time we come into town now!

Parking: When we went it was super busy… Sunday around 11am… we circled the building a couple times before finding a parking spot. There’s 2 hour street parking across the street from the restaurant, but if they have a long wait you may be parked for over 2 hours …

Service was fast and friendly. Nice atmosphere. Food was served quickly. I ordered two beef fajitas tacos. The tortillas were hot and soft. The beef fajitas were a bit on the tough side and hard to chew.
