I’ve tried quite a few pho places around SA, and I’ve gotta say that these guys have got the best pho in the city. I’ve gone to other pho shops, curious to see if anyone’s got what Pho Nguyen’s got, but I’ve been disappointed everytime. You’d be hard pressed to find something better. Little pro tip, order the pork banh mi, and dip it in your pho broth, thank me later.
My wife and I came to San Antonio for 2 weeks for work training. We have been to a few Vietnamese restaurants, but most were not authentic. We found that the foods here are very authentic, and they taste excellent to us, Vietnamese husband and Thai wife. We came here 4 times so far, and we found that the foods are consistent in taste. We had Pho (both chicken and beef), Vermicelli with grilled meats and spring roll, and I particularly enjoyed their Bún Bò Huế (had it twice)....
Overall okay. Portions are normal size even for the large. The meat isn’t raw when put into the broth like traditional pho. The serving size for a large is more like a medium for $14.99 (anything over $11 a bowl is disrespectful in USA) prefer 2 other places with better pho and bigger portions but I am gonna gate keep?
