Not the most elegant place. Smells musty when you walk in. And be prepared to hold up a conversation with your dining guests. Cause you will have to wait for your meal. But, worth the wait
Horrible experience. Wouldn't answer the phone for a call in order. When I got there I was told it would be 15 mins. Took about 25 minutes and I think the cook left to get something from the somewhere else to complete my order because I saw him park up front and go around to the back of the restaurant then a few minutes later come out of the kitchen with my food. To top it off I saw ants all over the front register counter.
I have been wanting to try this place for years but just never stopped in.I finally had a chance to stop in when I had a craving for pasta. The first thing I noticed was the smell of cig smoke when I walked into this place. While it didn't bother me much, it may bother some people. The ambiance of the interior made me feel I was back in the early 90s again. It made me feel rather nostalgic as a kid who grew up in the late 80s and 90s. Younger folks would simply call it "outdated".There was only two people working which seemed to be a husband and wife team. The husband was quite friendly to us, but the wife was a bit rough around the edges. It seems like she was having a bad evening.I ordered the spaghetti and it was awesome. Loved the sauce so much I wanted to lick it clean out of the bowl. The bread and salad was pretty good as well.I would come back here for sure.
So dissapointed. The service is horrible and only a few menu items were available! So sad to see a former favorite run down like this.
Food? Phenomenal. Ms. Velma? Wonderful. Ms. Velma was quick, attentive, and offered the freshly made lasagna as my entree, which was far more than enough food. I brought it home with me and can’t wait to dig into it again. Olive Garden doesn’t hold a candle to Piccolo’s!
Great food for the money. I take my wife here at least a few times a year. Try the Shrimp Fettuccini!
SORRY to say this place has gone downhill. Used to love it, but so many things have gone wrong. From not having my favorite dish (Ziti Sorrentino) to noticing that only the owner( also the cook!)and one other person was running the place. On a Friday night! Food was not bad, but the restaurant was depressing. So sad to me. Don't know if I'll be back.
Bottomline: Delicious Italian Food. Italian people are not known to be overly loving to strangers, so we need time to warm up and be welcoming. I've seen way too many reviews about the food being amazing but the lady is rude. NOT RUDE, she's just not a southern lady taught to courtsy when ppl arrive.
This place smells. Bad. Food was limited from the menu, was told only three items from the 7 item specials menu were available. Not bad, I couldn't tell what I was ordering anyways. (What is Chicken DiMaggio?) We got chicken marsala (I forgot that was just chicken in mushrooms, it was good) and baked ziti. Didn't stay for desert, smell was killing me.
Restaurantji Recommends
Never. Again. Mother’s Day weekend and they have not even half the menu. One waiter, same old angry lady running the place. Son is in the office with his shoes off not working. Over an hour to order food. Tables are leaving, not once were they asked for a drink order, we’ve been here for an hour and thirty minutes and no table since us has been served even bread. Scratch this place off the list and never come back. It’s dead, it’s over. But for fun order the cappuccino cake.
The food here isnt bad but the place needs to come a long way before I could recommend it. When you first walk in you are greeted by the smell of cigarettes. No one is smoking so the people are either smoking there before it opens or it hasn't been cleaned that long. My wife and I were seated at a table that was very wobbly and noticeably tilted when weight was applied to it. The menu seemed very authentic, but had no descriptions at all so you have to be familiar enough with Italian cuisine to know the difference between piccata, raffaello, pizzaiola, ect. The food was ok, but not enough to make for the other drawbacks.
Food was ok, but lacked a "wow" factor. Bathroom needed attention. Restaurant needs a little TLC. Not a bad evening, but the culinary experience was underwhelming.
Well I retired 3 years ago. We ate there a lot the food was always great best Italian restaurant in town. I was on that side of town and decided to order to go. I was very disappointed. I ordered eggplant. The fish with garlic butter sauce and the lasagna. The cheese on top of the eggplant was not even melted. The eggplant was like mush. The fish did not even have sauce just garlic sprinkled on the top. You can tell the cheese was cheap. In the salad it was not even the dressing they use to use it was like that over the counter zesty Italian. I know they had been struggling so I would always try and leave extra money. If you cannot afford to use the ingredients you used when the restaurant first opened maybe it’s time to close your doors.
