We arrived at our reservation time and we sat. We sat for 15 minutes without anyone coming to the table. We got up and told them we had theater tickets and needed to order. Some on then came over and took our order. We waited and waited salads came out and then we waited and waited. Drinks came out. Then we waited and waited. Again got up to check on food and reminded them of our need to be served. We saw three tables that were sat after us get their food and checks while we were still waiting on entrees. After being there an hour and 15 minutes with no entree we told the manager we had to leave and to cancel our order.
The food was delicious! Best Brussel sprouts we've had yet! The lights were very bright for dinner service and threw off the ambiance but otherwise really good food. Our server Dani was FANTASTIC!! She was very personable and always ensuring we had everything we needed with a smile.
Overall, was pretty disappointed with the meal. We waited >30 minutes for the main dishes. My wife got the fixed price menu for culinaria - the Caesar was good, the salmon was dry and very bland and the asparagus was overcooked. I got the Gouda/mushroom fondue and it was great-the bread was great too. I then had the fried Tuscan chicken and it was tasteless and lukewarm. The pasta on the side was room temp and the broccolini was meh. The Nutella mudpie was excellent. The manager removed the charges for the meals, so that was a good service recovery. The place was about a third full, so I don't understand the long waits for food or the cold food.
45 minutes after ordering, our waitress apologized for the wait. 35 minutes later, she hadn't yet returned. After I watched at table of 7, that got seated and ordered after us, I got up and asked for our check for drinks, and that took another 10 minutes. So many great restaurants in this town. Avoid this one.
Bottom line - both of our meals were terrible. The hot honey pork loin and chicken with broccolini should be removed from the menu.
Hostess was dressed like she came in her pijamas & was not pleasant. Waitress was excellent but food was marginal at best. I would not recommend
This was one of the worst restaurants I think I have ever been to. "Cacio e Pepe" deviled egg appetizer was a joke. It was literally a cold, medium set hard boiled egg, a dollop of kewpie mayo (trying to be trendy?) covered in grated parm (I guess) with an after thought of black pepper. Pathetic. The other appetizer was "Tuscan herb fried mozzarella" lol. Frozen, under-cooked mozzarella sticks. Our daughters both sent their meals back. One got the bolognese which was dry and under-seasoned. The manager claimed it was supposed to be dry, she obviously never had a good bolognese. The other dish was the risotto... this one was especially awful, again dry, not creamy like the manager claimed it would be. The peas were undercooked, again no seasoning, just a weird taste and the rice had a strange texture. The dishes my husband and I had were OK, but nothing special. The place was INCREDIBLY over-priced especially considering the lack of quality. STEER CLEAR!
Would not recommend. The hostess only allowed us minimal menu because they were closing in a hour but the table next to us had full menus. We both got the filet and it was not good. Charred on the outside and too rare on the inside. Too salty and the sauce on side wasn’t good. The potato’s were good the asparagus was burnt. The margarita was good. And our waitress was attentive.
I want to be compleatly honest, i really think that I am a easy costumer, but i had to take the time to write this because the time we had in this restaurant was the worst. Even the service did not feel right because even though the lady that was attending us, was nice, she was on her own and every time I wanted to ask her something, I felt shy to ask because she was so busy and stressed, she forgot about my salad, and desert (wihch included the menu) I rader satyed without it instead of asking. A little bit of context, we went to on new yers eve, the resaurant was closing al 10 and our reservation was at 9 we were 15 persons, they really wanted us to leave, they turned off the music, they droped the plates in the table over other plates that weren`t picked up, they were breakinf stuff and things behid the bar, (since the music was tured off we could hear all the stress and the bad maners they were having). The food was (no joking) terrible uneatable, and we paid about 130 dls per person, we literally waste our money in all the ways, not a good eviorment, no music, no drinks, becasue the second we arrive there they told us to order everything because they were about to close, nothing abou it was enjoyable, with bettter words its was a terrible expirience. I really want to mention a guy that was behid the bar, talking terribly to their team and to us, he was sarcastic, agresive, and simply a person who dosen´tknow how ti treat people, we felt frustrates. And just a lastt comment, we acctually told them about our feeling, i fell that the response was weak, (there was food not delivered, as I mentioned) I think that for this cases you should consider a valuable option apologie, discount. The worst expirience in every way.
Extremely disappointing New Year's Eve experience. We paid $130 per person expecting a special evening. Our 9:00 pm reservation was rushed because the kitchen and bar were closing, which was never disclosed in advance. Food quality was poor (undercooked pork, bad lobster bisque, old lettuce in Caesar salad, late and poorly prepared appetizers). Service felt hurried, and the atmosphere was unacceptable—music off, chairs being stacked, loud cleaning, and staff clearly rushing to close while we were still eating. The only redeeming part was our server, who did her best and was very attentive. Not worth the price and not appropriate for a New Year's Eve dinner.

We have dined on NY eve at The Range for past 4 years. Food is superb and service is excellent in a very nice setting.
Five stars all around! The New Year's Eve Dinner was scrumptious! Amanda was absolutely spectacular in her service and attention. All top top notch. I highly recommend a visit to the Range while you are in San Antonio.
We went to dinner while staying at the hotel. Attentive staff, gave excellent recommendations and the food was outstanding. Already recommended it to several people. Would definitely return. Thank you for setting such a high quality experience for downtown San Antonio.
When we arrived there were three tables with customers. We were there for 25 minutes and no one acknowledged us. Another group of. about 10 people arrived 20 minutes later and once they were seated their drink orders were taken immediately. We decided to leave.
Normally a huge fan of Jason Dady's offerings, even had two brothers cater our family's Thanksgiving dinner. This meal tasted like we were eating Thanksgiving leftovers for 50% more money. Service was decent and the staff was nice. Would have expected little things like packaging your leftovers for you after spending $300+ for two people. Not upset but would not repeat.
