Rock and Rye has a great ambience. The service was excellent. The drinks were delicious. Wish there was more food options available but this nut mix was very good and filling.

Someone at the outside table lit a joint, the bouncer came to our table and kicked everyone out even though there was one person smoking. He took my drink off the table which I paid for 2 old fashioned for me and a friend and didn't even get to drink them. I try to go inside and get my phone and he would not let me do that either. I wasn't even offered my money back and this was truly embarrassing. Especially because I'm in the military and don't even smoke.I wish they could make up for this

Good selection of Whiskey. Maybe even impressive for the non-collector crowd.

I love going to Rock and Rye. Overall, it's a nice, classy joint with great food/drink options and a calming atmosphere. SERVICE: Bouncer/security is always nice, personable, and respectful. Bartenders are similar. In all my experiences, they have been knowledgeable and always attentive, though never burdensome or pushy. DRINKS: Fantastic, eclectic arsenal of mixed drinks, beers, wines, liquors, and cigars. I am mainly into mixed drinks, so that's what I'll speak to. I've really been into the Q Cum Cocktail recently, which is vodka with dill, Serrano, lime, and cucumber. A bit unique, but right up my alley, personally. I also thoroughly enjoy the Ukraine Mule (Moscow Mule), Aviation Cocktail, and True Azul. Finally, I've had a few Chardonnays and never been dissatisfied. FOOD: I've only had the pretzel with assorted mustards, but I get it literally EVERY TIME. I love mustard as it is and this little dish (pictured below) always hits the spot. OVERALL: Fantastic bar that is relaxed and perfect for quieter evenings with friends or family.

I always have a delightful time at the Rock and Rye! Stumbled upon it when finding bars to try out on my 21st, and have been going ever since! Awesome drinks, kind bartenders, and wonderful atmosphere, the Rock and Rye is a 10/10 in all fields. My personal favorite has to be the Blue Grass Fizz, but I’ve never had a drink that didn’t hit the spot. Same goes for the small plates. Whether it’s for a casual drink or a large outing with friends, the Rock and Rye is absolutely my favorite spot in San Antonio!

If I could leave zero stars, I would. My team of 22 staple clinics in the San Antonio area will never step foot in your establishment or any of your affiliates. You all were rude, inflexible, and didn’t even give my team the time of day to explain our concerns. I would alert any major company to look the other way when dealing with this place of business because they will not even listen to your concerns. It’s actually very sad. Zero stars. Never coming back and definitely not bringing our business back to this establishment.

Just had an ugly experience here. Was showing up to celebrate a friend's birthday after dinner and I was denied entry. I understand some places have dress codes but I saw online it's casual attire as well as another guy bring denied who wore a button up. The doorman kept saying "I'm good" when not letting me in and "I don't think they'll serve you" which was confusing especially after my friend came to see what was wrong. The doorman was hard to understand and was probably under the influence so I didn't bother staying around to argue even after he said I could wait outside? Just an ugly experience I didn't even get the chance to enter.

The drinks here are very interesting. It took me a while to read through their entire drink menu, since they add little history info on the description. I loved the drink "the wet one" it was made of gin and slightly sweet. We came here on a friday night until close. I only took one star off the service because our server did take a little long to bring our drinks, and when she finally brought them out she had forgotten to put one in. The atmosphere is very loud and dark. We had a nice time here!

rude customer service, the owner is rude himself. what a joke of a place, and I'm pretty sure by the replies you can see how the owner presents himself and runs his business.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had a temporary drivers license because I just lost my mine. I showed the bouncer my legal paper temporary licenses issued by the DMV and he made me show him my credit cards and Costco card and a picture of my original ID. Then he said said to come in and proceeded to ask someone else to verify my paper ID and the other person didn't even bother to even look at it. She rudely just denied. If a police officer were to stop me at any time they would take it because it's a legal document. Overall, if they had their policy's he could've just denied me and not had me show them all my personal information. The bouncer asked to see my credit card and Costco card. I did not ask him if I could show him.
