Roosters Run

This is kind of a long review, but if you read the whole review it maybe helpful. I would like to start by saying maybe my experience would have been better if I went earlier. As you can see on the sign, they close at 10 on Thursday. Nevertheless, it was not the best experience. First of all the name is different. This is actually Willie’s ice house not Roosters Run unless y’all know something I don’t. The way the layout of the restaurant was it was not really easy to understand. Apparently you are supposed to go to the cashier first and order, no one said that and there were no signs that stated otherwise. My party sat down at a table first. None of the servers told us anything either. The only reason we got up to order was because I saw someone else come in and they went straight to ordering. The cashier seemed more interested in closing out for the night than helping us. Again that was my fault for going so late. We finally got helped, ordered our food and sat down. The food took a while to get to us and when it did get to us it wasn’t even hot. I had a burger (Willie’s special) there was nothing special about it, funny name though. Wings were cooked but not so flavorful. We came here for the sweet potato fries. They are waffle fries so you would think they were good but again nothing special about them. I forgot to mention before that, the server came to us when we sat down and asked for our receipt. The servers are in charge of checking out with us and to ensure our order is right. The menu doesn’t have the option for combos which I think is crazy. With that being said there was confusion about to the amount of fries we were supposed to receive. We were happy with the amount of fries received and we about $60 for three people. I probably will not be going back and I probably won’t recommend this place.

I just had outstanding service, ANDY was so friendly! I did not taste the food today, I picked up a door dash order but was very pleased with the service. I pick up orders from multiple places & his service really stood out!!! Great

My BERY 1st time there .. my family ranted and raved about this place .. I ordered appetizers & a burger , my sister and I were just served the appetizers, for some reason our burgers that we ordered were not done that was a big NO NO on the kitchen staff as far as the rest of the VERY FRIENDLY & PROMPT to ask if we needed anything.. don’t get me wrong I will be going back I really really want to try the CHICKEN FRIED BIRGER & THE BACON BURGER … not upset just want to know what happened to our burgers that we ordered.. I did take some of the appetizers with me but I saw a homeless lady and just gave her the rest of the NACHOS (which were very delicious)

My family and I enjoyed an hot dinner here last night. The food was excellent and the service was great!

Got together on a Friday night at Willie's on South Side of SA with friends.Had one of the best waiters maybe the best waiter in the house Diego. He made sure we had everything ordered correctly. When our food was ready everything served right. He made some suggestions on any extra condiments, like jalapeños, extra BBQ sauce which we all said yes to. When it came time to reorder our frozen margaritas we all reordered. Less than 5 minutes later Diego unfortunately informed us having problems with margarita machine and he keeps us informed about every 5 minutes they will be out soon. After about a 15-20 minute wait our frozen Margaritas arrived. Thanks Diego for your Great service and meeting all our needs!!
