Rosey’s Fish and Chips

I am a huge fan of fish and chips and was looking forward to trying this. However, the batter on the fish was not crispy, the fish itself tasted bland, and the fries tasted of old oil. Overall, the whole meal tasted unseasoned and even with salt, it was simply not good and not worth the amount I paid. Ah well, the search for good fish and chips in San Antonio continues.

The food here includes employee bodily fluids. I saw one of the staff spitting in somebody’s food while I was there, and when I called them out on it, I was told to leave or they would call the police. Spend your money elsewhere!

I know last night (in Boerne) Matthew was slammed with orders. I had to wait a long time for our order, but it was so worth it. The fish was flaky, the batter was crispy and not greasy, and not too thick. The chips were done to a turn with just enough salt on them. The portion size was perfect for two people, and we even had some chips left! I am British, and have a high standard for fish and chips. I had a decent fish and chip meal back in England in May when I visited. This was on par, if not better than what I had when I was in England!

The most chaotic and inefficient ordering system I’ve ever encountered. Order ahead isn’t actually for ordering ahead I was told. No one responds to your text for ordering. When you show up, you’re told to come back in another 30 minutes. Then when you come back in 40 you’re told still not ready? Super sad as I sang praises for this place prior

I just had a plate last night and I’m looking to see when would be the next time. The best fish and chips I’ve had in my life!!! And I love fish and chips and have had them a few times in different places. The crust is crunchy and delicate and the fish melts, it’s so tender. Same for the fries. I was shocked and couldn’t figure out how you get fries like that because no else does them.

After seeing this being available, we ventured 12 miles to downtown 1302 S. St. Mary's St. just to find the building there with NO FOOD TRUCK. NO ROSIES FISH & CHIPS, ???? what gives? If a business wants to stay in business, SHOULD THEY NOT KEEP UP WITH THEIR MEDIA AND REVIEWS??? Respect and honor are at play here-THERE IS NO ROSIES HERE!!!!!!

Rosey's Fish and Chips are up there with the best fish and Chips I've had anywhere in the world.I grew up around fish and chips with my mother spending years working in a fish and chip shop where I also used to cut chips as a teenager.I have introduced my (American) wife and friends to Rosey's and they love it too.The fish is always fresh and beautifully battered. Everything has always been cooked perfectly.Rosey is the real deal if you want authentic English fish and chips in San Antonio.

Great food, very fresh and the fish was cooked perfectly. Fries were big and a great portion. Only would say although he suggests enough to serve two people per plate. Just get one plate per person especially if you are feeding a hungry guy or have leftovers. Win win!

Fantastic and delicious, this is fish & chips done right! I was happy it was served with malt vinegar as no true fish & chips meal is complete without it. If you can catch this food truck around, definitely grab a bite! The gentleman in charge was also very kind too!
