Saw this place on my way home and decided to stop in. Purchased 1 lb all meat barbacoa, 1/2 dz pork tamales (normally they sale just the dozens), 1 dz of corn tortillas, and 2 avocados.....once the lady told me the total of $52.46, I almost wanted to walk out! I instantly regretted not getting the "special" or "bundles" they sale since it would have been cheaper but we didn't need that much food. Don't get me wrong I totally get prices have gone up everywhere but damn, I may have to stick with my normal spot for barbacoa, where I get more food for less money.

My wife went in there, she got half pd all meat, $12.00, the meat was cold, she was charging almost $5.00 for 3 tiny Chile's 2 red I green, really $5.00 for 3 Chile's, Why are charging $5.00 , I really want to know. I saw her reviews after this And there's customers also saying she over charges. What is thus World Coming to.

The employee at the counter is always so nice and courteous she always has a good attitude her other employees behind the counter are very nice too and very helpful.The all meat Barbacoa special is very good, and her tamales are excellent

Every single time I have gone here the woman overcharges me. Out of habit I mentally add up my charges at any store or restaurant I go to including tax. This woman overcharges me by several dollars every single time I come here and I have to correct her and she apologizes. I have to believe she’s doing this to a lot of other people in the neighborhood so if you go here add your total up you’ll thank me for it!

Been going to Ruben's for about 8 years and they have the best barbacoa all meat with great flavor, knowing that prices have gone up but they do have specials combos from $26 and up. I will continue going to them because i love how clean there barbacoa is and i have never gotten over charged.
