A must-visit for tortilla enthusiasts and history buffs! Sanitary Tortilla Manufacturing Company has been a San Antonio staple since 1925, pioneering tortilla-making machines and setting a new standard for quality and consistency.Their commitment to tradition and hard work shines through in every tortilla, made with alkaline pH and 0% additives.I was impressed by the rich, fresh flavor and smooth aftertaste. The company's history is fascinating, from its origins with the "Chili Queens" to its current location near the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.Just a mile away from The Alamo, this hidden gem is a great addition to any San Antonio itinerary.Don't miss out on trying a true, authentic tortilla from Sanitary - your taste buds will thank you!
Very quick service, delicious and filling food, and exceptionally sweet and professional staff members!! My dad and I will be back :•)
Generous servings of barbacoa in their tacos. Delicious ? Enjoy ?Will be back when we visit San Antonio again.
Yes must try this place on the weekend if possible ?.
Very good service
I stood at the register for 10 minutes with no one to attend me only to Waite for the response that they did not have what I was looking for poor customer service
Don't order here through Doordash... They don't ship complete orders. My order arrived without the 2 liter soda, plus they don't package the barbecue well, they just put it in a piece of aluminum foil and don't give you the full pound.
Restaurantji Recommends
Just left This place and the person who workers what she says is only “the weekend” was completely rude! It was my first time there and I asked about the flour tortillas and she said they were in ice chest (there were none) so they had some one the rack and I asked her if these were fresh she proceeded to tell me that she didn’t know that she knows the make them on Monday and Friday, and those were from this past week. I asked if there was a label saying if it was Monday or Friday only cause 7 days is farther than 3 days and I would rather the ones mash Friday. She was like I said I don’t know and we are closing so do you want them or not. Yeah I turned around and will never try this place ever!
My great grandmother used to come here when I was just a kid still the same grade tortillas that I remember they also have Barbacoa by the pound or a special I recommend coming here and try it out for yourself. Tortillas are made daily fresh here in store.
Absolutely delicious freshly made tortilla chips and bunelos!
Deeeeelish corn and flour tortillas!!The older gentleman was so adorable lol and so very kind in taking a break from crafting tortillas - with his hands still coated in flour & dough - to make absolutely sure I understood that there are no preservatives in the tortillas, so they should be stored in the fridge to prevent them from growing a science project really quickly. Thanks, sir!My properly-stored tortillas were the PERFECT vehicle for my Danny Trejo recipe carnitas! Also, you can now buy Sanitary tortillas and tortilla chips at Wiatrek's meat market on Blanco ? ? - one-stop shopping.
Felt like I was disturbing the person working and all they had was tortillas. Bought some tortillas, but won't be visiting again.
