I rated Shake Shack 5 stars for a hamburger place not a gourmet restaurant. Please keep that in mind. The staff is helpful and courteous. The food is really good, with gluten-free options and also hotdogs if you are a fan. They do not have a dedicated fryer for fries so if you are Celiac you cannot eat the fries. Easy to get in and out of and kid friendly for visiting after the DoSeum.
While the burgers were flavorful, their diminutive size was notable. Our party, consisting of two adults and a two-year-old, incurred a cost of $51.00 for two burgers, two orders of fries, two shakes, chicken tenders, and a lemonade. Although the meal was enjoyable, we found the value proposition to be less than optimal.
When we walked in we saw the order machines but we had a coupon for a free burger. It wasn't easy to get someones attention to ask about the coupon. He told one of the employees to take our order but we felt like a bother. The food was ok, the burger was very small. I don't know if I would go back.
