Food was okay but I had higher expectations for the price. Steak and lamb were kind of a let down. Everything else was good though.

Silo in Alamo Heights is exceptional from start to finish. The ambience is warm, refined, and inviting, setting the tone for a memorable experience. The food is impeccably prepared—beautifully presented with balanced, thoughtful flavors. Service is attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. A truly standout dining experience I'll happily return to and recommend.

Dinner was fantastic. Service was spot on. Was a great experience. Food, wine, service, everything was so enjoyable and made for an outstanding dinner with a dear friend. Thank you Silo!

The food is always excellent, especially if you order the special ( fish or other seafood). Tonight was Chilean Sea Bass, with shrimp. You could not find a more flavorful dish anywhere. Their wine list is extensive and very well priced. The service is as good as it gets. Shout out to management for replacing all of the chairs. Thanks

Amazing food and superior service. A bit more pricey than our usual, but for a special occasion it was an excellent choice. Great NY strip and salmon and probably the best key lime dessert I've ever had, and that's saying a lot coming from someone with some time in Florida.

We had an early reservation so enjoyed the low noise level. Venue is smaller so that helps as well. Food was delicious!

The food is always excellent at Silo. We normally go to the 1604 location but decided to meet two other couples for a great evening out.

Silo in Alamo Heights is a favorite go to when we want a nice evening dinner out. Our set menu New Years Even dining experience was very favorable. The legendary fried oysters' starters could very well be the best in town. Our second course selections were the lobster bisque on my side, and the Cesars Salad selected by my wife, had a favorable authentic dressing with that hint of anchovy and flavorful tart parmesan. For the main course I chose the crusted Chilean sea bass on a bed of risotto, it was exceptional. My wife selected a beef tenderloin that was cooked to her liking, medium, tender and juicy with a nice grilled outer char. The ambiance at Silo is unpretentious yet cozy with mellow lighting. Big enough to have a nice intimate vibe but small enough to not feel like you are in a school cafeteria. This is one reason we choose this location over the one on 1604. On the topic of service, Joseph was our waiter, a 23-year Silo veteran table attendant, who obviously long ago figured out the balance of being there when needed but not smothering and intrusive of our space. He was jovial and contributed to the success of our evening. Silo is not a Michelin Star restaurant, and it doesn't pretend to be. But once again it was a great dining experience, reasonable in value with a thoughtfully prepared multiple choice set New Years Eve menu. The chef and kitchen upheld the high standards we've come to enjoy. Hope your experience will be as good as ours. Happy New Year!

Top 3 favorite restaurants in San Antonio. Silo never disappoints. The food is always delicious. The staff and management are on point, and you are guaranteed to walk away so satisfied. Great value and place to go for a wonderful dining experience. Excellent wine list too.

Great ambiance. The servers are always outstanding. The food for some reason is totally lacking. As much as I want to love this place I can't get past the airline quality food. We go there occasionally for old times sake, but wish they would replace the chef so we could make it a regular stop. Leasing the first floor to a third rate Tex Mex restaurant was also not the greatest move.

We entered the restaurant, and no one greeted us. Finally, the hostess appeared, disoriented. I asked if I could purchase a gift card. She seemed startled, so I had to ask her again. She did not know how to do this transaction. She disappeared again to seat some customers at a different restaurant in this building. She never asked us if we had a reservation. Finally, she escorted us to the second floor, where the dining for Silo was located. A server greeted us upon arriving on the second floor. I had made a reservation request for a quiet table at this restaurant because we were there for our wedding anniversary. The server/manager on duty seated us right next to the elevator. He never welcomed us there because of our wedding anniversary. Apparently, no one in this organization ever reads the additional requests the customer adds to the OpenTable reservation. There are ten steps of service to be followed at this type of restaurant. None of the ten steps was ever observed at this establishment. The service grew worse as the night went on. Our server brought our food to us. Our food was back-handed to us for both entrees. After the food arrived, our server never once checked back to see if we were satisfied with our meals. The entrees were average in flavor, and both entrees were warm, not hot, when they arrived at our table. It took six minutes for my iced tea glass to be refilled. When we were finished with our meals, we put our knives and forks at the 4:00 o'clock position. Our server never picked up our soiled dishes. When we left, there were only four other diners in this whole restaurant. This was one of the "Fun" nights that turned into a "Disaster" night. We exited the restaurant, and no one was at the hostess stand to bid us farewell, nor was anyone there to escort us out. Buyer beware when you go to this restaurant.
