So i was seated at a table for 2, the seats were very wobbly and it was in an open space which I don't have any problems with, but I saw a half booth area and decided I would ask about sitting at instead. I approached the counter by the entrance and The young curly dark hair girl told me "the way that we have it, we cant" I told her I wasn't comfortable sitting where I was placed and she rolled her eyes at me and I said to myself "wow I can't believe that just happened". She then talked to another girl working and the other girl who was much nicer and said we could go sit where I had asked. The waitress also seemed to give off passive aggressive vibes when she came up and leaned on the table arms forward and wrote her name on the table then asked what what we wanted to drink and if we'd been there before, then asked about appetizers. I didn't even hear her say hi, most places I go to have that welcomed feeling and i just didnt feel that at all here, The whole experience up to that point just didn't sit right with me. I've worked in a restaurant before so i know how tough it can be, but I actually really wanted to just get up and leave, I only stayed because I was there on a special occasion. I just felt like they weren't treating me like a customer and more like I was a problem. Although the food was on point, I unfortunately won't be returning here.

I’m saddened and disgusted by this place. I decided to come here because my boyfriend had been to a smashin crab at a different location before and hyped it up to me so we decided to come here for our date night, so it was my first time coming here. We wanted a good seafood boil and got all the works while ordering the food. The service was great and had good drinks, but upon getting home, me and my boyfriend got sick and started throwing up and diarrhea from eating here (sorry for the TMI). Very sad about it because the food was good, not 255 dollars good but good. I don’t know about it too much but the king crab shell was very bendable when trying to crack it, and did not taste like anything at all. We also ordered two boils both at spice level 2 and one was insanely hot and the other one not so hot. I read here based on comments that they recently must’ve changed the heat level but I think that they need to up their quality control.

I went in today by myself on my one day off to get some lobster and some gumbo, I decided to treat myself which in other occasions I’ve went there and I usually spend about 80$, today wasn’t the case I had to tell the hostess to sit me, after that I sat for 5 minutes and no one even greeted me or served me a drink! I’m in the retail customer service business and I run several stores in my district, I treat people like family always and I expect at the least half the level in customer service! I DIDNT EVEN GET THAT! I’m very disappointed that I can’t even look at this place as an option now! That’s to bad.

The food was good. The service was excellent. Jen kept our drinks filled and made we sure had everything we needed. Plus, she had a great story to tell. I recommend you give the Smashin Crab a try.

Overall good expert this place! There are set combo/boils. We added garlic butter only w crab legs, peeled shrimp, crawfish and pirate, sausage and corn. The place was loud with many families but it was clean! Service was good! Sorry but I forgot to get a picture of the boil! We were hangry!

Food- the budani balls, are like a texmex and New Orleans style. Red hook does them right. Chargrilled oysters are ok. They are not for everyone. Soppin bread 👎👎 that's a big NO. The Boil was ok too much garlic but good. I did not like the Trinity Blend but crab trap is a must try. Smashing Crab is a one hit wonder.

Have been a customer of the Bandera road location for over 8 years. Have always ordered the seafood boiled menu and the chargrilled oysters. On Saturday, 3/15/25 I decided to try something different ("just because") which resulted in a major dinning mistake. Ordered a creole fish dish with dirty rice. The dirty rice was the Worst serving of dirty rice I ever seen & tasted (it was a combination of their white rice blended with the "dirty rice "sauce") To make matters worst the rice was sticky, uncooked pieces of rice, and flavorless). When I separated the rice on portions you came across obvious portions of the white rice. I expressed my discontent with the manager on duty. She stated that is the same recipe for all their restaurants. I replied that if that is the case perhaps someone needs to re-look at that practice. Totally an unappealing, not presentable dish.
My impression of the manager was "un-faced" of my concern/observation./comment. However, waiter table service was great.
P.S. The crab legs size were the smallest we have had. Should have warned customer of the unusual small size of that particular bash so we could have made an informed decision and not request crab legs on that visit.
I over heard the bartender bun guy referring to a younger female as a “hoe” for wearing a crop top. As i sat there wearing a crop top🧍♀️

I’ve been to this location allot! My boyfriend and I can’t stay away from the boils. The trinity sauce, chefs kiss. I would have definitely rated 5 stars but … yesterday (Feb 26) between 2p-3p, we came in and got boils and ordered chargrilled oysters for app. The oysters were mushy, slimy, undercooked, may have gone bad and shouldnt have been served. I ended up have allot of stomach issues in the evening. Since the meals are so filling Smashin Crab was my lunch/dinner so I didn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day. And I never experience any issues after eating the boils, in fact, the only issue I have is I want more. I’m hoping this post will make the Cook be more aware of the food being served. Please take food safety seriously. Also the snow crab was bendy.. ?
I would like a refund.

Went for the Valentine's day couples special. It was fantastic. Lobster, shrimp and great veggies in a spicy boil for two for $65. I wish they ran that offer all the time!

Employees having Acrylic nails without gloves seems to be a consistent issue here.
Hoping management addresses this before the next food inspection report. They usually score pretty high, so sad to see this was happening.
