Smashin Crab

We enjoy this place a lot. The crab is always well cooked and flavorful. Most of the staff is super friendly but they do have 1 lady who's a little on the rude side. Our interactions w her have always felt off but it's not enough to chase us away or ding the rating too much. The food def makes up for it!

I placed a to go order for my son's birthday meal. The young man who cashed me out didn't give me my change back. I had to ask him where my change was. We waited 30+ minutes for the order. We were never told when it was ready. We had to inquire. We received our meal cold. I'm wondering how long it had been sitting there. First and last time going there.

I loved our waitress Michelle. She was so professional and easy going at the same time it really felt as if I was talking with a friend. She acknowledged my son and actually asked him what he wanted and explained the menu to him and he told her what he wanted. (Something that we have taught him to do since he was 2 years old). The atmosphere was just happy vibes. The food arrived quickly. We ordered a shrimp and cod basket, cod and fries meal for my kiddo, spicy crab and corn chowder and seafood boil. They were all great in taste! The only reason why this wasn’t a complete 5 ⭐️ rating is because the chowder was only warm a little to the colder side, the cod in our basket was completely falling apart and I only ate 2 bites of it (I put it in the air fryer at home and that did the trick) other than that, everything was delicious! 5 ⭐️’s for our server Michelle! Thank you!!

Kid-friendliness: They have a kid menu and they give you an activity sheet with crayons to keep our kiddos entertained

We went for restaurant week. This is GREAT deal. I had gumbo, seafood boil and dessert for $45. The shrimp were big and everything tasted delicious.

They stay disappointing at this location. Have eaten here a few times since it opened and the food had not been good. I waited to leave a review thinking it'll get better, since we really like the Bandera location. Well tonight I ordered a boil and a margarita for delivery it was over $115 and of course they forgot stuff. After talking to the worker, she was basically like yea even though it's our fault call Ubereats. Absolutely ridiculous.

I gave 4 stars for the food b/c it was so much grease/oil! I had to hunt for the seasoning that sat on the bottom of the bag hidden by all the grease/oil. Hope it’s olive oil… otherwise, it’s a clogged artery waiting to happen to someone.

Service was good (they didn’t have any available crab crack tools smh) and timing was pretty good. Atmosphere was good, clean & not very crowded.

Parking: The building is located in a small plaza with plenty of parking.

Kid-friendliness: It’s seafood, so as long as the kiddos have no allergies… it’s definitely kid-friendly and very family oriented. =)

Wheelchair accessibility: I’d say it’s definitely wheelchair accessible b/c there are no stairs and all the tables are spaced out pretty well. If not, they can move and shift tables around to accommodate. =)

Came here the 15th for my wife’s birthday. It was a Friday but we made a reservation ahead of time. I have to stay the whole experience was underwhelming. Service was abysmal. We ordered calamari as an appetizer. Our server who seemed distracted the entire time. Never brought out the appetizer and when we asked about it she said it may have been taken to another table. When she finally brought it out, it was with our food. Which I told her I didn’t want to get charged for an appetizer that was supposed to be brought out before our food to hold us over. Didn’t apologize or comp. Every time we needed refills we would have to flag her down. The crab legs were super skinny. The only thing that was good is the seasoning I will say that was tasty. The server did nothing to remedy the experience even when she knew this was wife’s birthday. We normally go to Surfing Crab but heard good things about this spot. Guess not. Won’t be going back.

The food orders are always messed up. I also had the guy Manager lie to my face when he brought out the food, the second time after correcting it. I asked him if he had picked out items that belonged in my boil from my friend's boil. He stated no I didn’t. Which turned out to be a lie since my friend only ordered shrimp but yet had a crab leg mixed in with their boil.

First-time visitor to Smashin Crab and overall had a great experience! The seafood boil was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Really appreciated how friendly and helpful the staff were, especially in showing us how to properly eat the crabs - this made a big difference as newcomers to this style of dining. The food quality and service definitely deserve praise.

Only reason for not giving 5 stars was the sticky floor throughout the restaurant, which somewhat impacted the dining comfort. This is a maintenance detail that could be improved.

Despite this minor issue, would recommend for the tasty food and excellent service. A great place for both seasoned seafood lovers and first-timers!

Over priced seafood, especially since you have to tell them you want corn/potato in a seafood boil. And the seafood isn’t all that, it’s alr. They also make you pay on the phone if you do take out which is super annoying. If you’re looking for seafood boils they have it but you’re not really getting what you pay for.

Food was served hot, good flavor . Ordered the catfish shrimp basket and only received 3 very small pieces of catfish.

This place consistently fails after trying to give them another shot. I dined in and the server brought my food to me with a long piece of hair in it before I could even begin eating the food. I saw it in plain sight and had him immediately take it as soon as it was placed on the table. I couldn't enjoy the rest of my meal whatsoever, the manager brings another order of egg rolls out and didn't apologize, nor offer or remove it from my tab, nothing. The management is horrible in customer service overall. I suggested the server next time throw the unsanitary food away in the customers presence to ensure there's no concern with mishandling food being "remade".
