Not sure if it was because it was a tuesday night or because february it's their low season but this place was dead. No inside, I felt literally bad for whoever its the owner cause clearly that's a lost, having such a huge venue like this restaurant and only 2 tables occupied. I Ordered the turkey and the brisket and hubby ordered the ribs and they were COLD. Not good at all, it gave us later such a pain in our stomach that had to take medicine to minimize you know what. I am not sure once again if it was just the day since by the rest of the pictures it seem to be a nice/lid place but the day we went it was good both the atmosphere and food.

The brisket mac and cheese needs no explanation. Creamy, cheesy, brisket-y, and just plain good. The 'best damn brisket taco' came with brisket, guacamole, pickled red onion, tomato, chopped white onion, cilantro, and salsa verde on a tortilla. Even with all the fillings inside, the tortilla really held up nicely. I wasn't a huge fan of the pickled red onion because I felt like it really overpowered the salsa verde. Great taco though!

In town to see the machine, Bert Kreischer & stopped in for lunch. Friendly staff, drinks were great, brisket on point!! Grabbed the brisket & chicken with beans & potato salad & everything was great! Also, try the watermelon booster @ the bar.

Do not waste your time, stay away this is the worst BBQ we have ever had . Ordered sausage tacos with a side of beans , the tacos consisted of a piece of sausage in a soft flour shell no cheese onions or anything else. The beans reminded me of refried beans that weren’t mashed, we have had beans at plenty of places & were never like that . Also over priced, if you are in San Antonio go to Pinkertons they are twenty times better than smokes!!

Last visited: Dec' 23. In days after X-Mas. In the SA-TX area, we stopped by here for lunch. I ordered: St. Louis Ribs Plate (x3 ribs) with 2 sides -- Potato Salad & Green Beans Note that there is a difference between "Beans" and "Green Beans" on the sides menu. The first is actually Pinto Beans. Ounce for ounce, GBs seem to be a healthier option, hence why I went with it. Rest of table had: - 2/3 meats sampler that included smoked chicken and brisket cuts - Pork sandwich - Some beer The Pork Ribs that I ordered (seasoned) was pretty decent. They really soaked it and seasoned it well in salt and other spices. The BBQ sauce was likewise decent, nothing great. All in all, I would rate the dishes I tasted as follows; 1) St. Louis pork ribs -- tastes good with BBQ but just as good without (as it's seasoned) 2) Smoked chicken 3) Brisket -- good but too much fat with the meat, had to work to separate fat from meat (protein). All in all, good experience here at STD (funny acronym I know). They are dog friendly and I walked our dog near bar area outside, also they have decent restrooms, and food is decent enough, if not a home run for Texas BBQ. Had good experience and would recommend overall.

I think 3.2 stars was a bit generous. I had the brisket and 2 sides. Brisket was very dry and the sides were cold. (Mac N Cheese and Creamed Corn) The spot was cool with lots of TVs to watch Bowl games. They need to improve the food which is why I came.

I was staying at the hotel across the street from this BBQ spot. When I checked in they recommended here not only because it was so close to the hotel but because they had good food. I like BBQ every so often so I was excited to try it out. When you arrive, you must order inside then you can take your food outside to eat it. While I was sitting outside, they had many tv's to watch the several foot ball games on. They also had a Dj playing. There weren't that many people because it was a Sunday night. Frm the looks of it, this place can fit a giant crowd of people during alive event. My food was good. I got a taco that had beef brisket and even though it was large I ate it quick. The ribs were good and the sauces they give complimented it well. I did not like my sides(beans and potato salad). The highlight for me personally was the sweat tea. I love sweat tea and went back to get those free refills.

Worst place for a concert. Sound quality is so bad.... Do not recommend for a concert. Pretty sure only 2 speakers work.

Great food, quick delivery! Brisket was very tender, just like I like it! Great value for price and portions size

very disappointed. ordered ribs and they were out of them at 6:00 pm. really? brisket was tender but over done and dry. ran out of the baked potato also. only a frozen lime margarita on the happy hour menu.

Food was delicious! But the portion size and prices were not great, I got the two meat two side for 22$ and there was a small portion of Brisket. The appetizer I ordered was the brisket nachos that came in a paper boat that was 15$ and the cocktail I ordered was also 15$ and was pure mix with barely any chamoy on the rim. Service was great though! But sadly I wouldn't visit again.

Horrible. Come full to this restaurant or come for the ambience but do not come to eat. After looking at the website we wanted to like this place so much being from California we decided on this place for our last dinner here in Texas The only good thing is the atmosphere 100% just the atmosphere. They were out of ribs 1st off, then we ordered one of the loaded baked potatoes which was lukewarm and served with cold shredded cheese that would not melt I ordered mine with the chicken that that had zero flavor to it And on top of that I asked for everything to be on it, when I got it it had no chives I went back in to ask for chives they told me they were out of those as well. I got the potato salad as one of my sides and I asked her if it was sweet, she said "absolutely not but it is so good" after one bite it tasted like like sweet store-bought potato salad. Some people to eat his own like sweet potato salad but I hate it so I asked if it was sweet or not. The brisket was also lukewarm at best And I asked to reheat it because I liked the texture of it being chopped and soft when they gave it back to me it was brand new brisket that was dry. To top it all off the location is very sketchy as soon as we got out we had a homeless man asking us for money. Now for the goods I would go back on a concert night for just the event and if I was not eating, I would come full already. The drinks were pretty tasty but not very strong.

This was my first ever experience with Texas BBQ and I really wanted to say that I enjoyed it. However, I was really disappointed with Smoke! The service was okay, the staff that attended to my friends and I were very sweet. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was casual, there was a very big texan influence on the decor of the restaurant. The food was definitely lacking. The BBQ was very flavorless and the sides I had were also plain. I would love to see this place make some improvements because I can see this becoming a wonderful restaurant but I was just left dissatisfied after my visit.
