Shout out to the cows and pigs and chickens
Very nice facility modern clean and comfortable. The BBQ is excellent with consistent flavor and moisture.
Good food, but check your meal before you leave. I ordered turkey with green beans and mac & cheese… Two meat plate. I got the turkey, pinto beans and no mac & cheese. I told them no bread and no barbecue sauce, but got that instead.
Not the best bbq, but quick and inexpensive. Small portions.
This is just so Hella unsanitary. Whyyyyy
UTSA Location always has fresh and great tasting barbecue. The chicken is my favorite. We keep coming back!!
If you are looking for fast food TX BBQ I’m not quite sure why you would go anywhere else. This place puts Bill Miller’s to shame. It’s been quite some time since I’ve been to Smokey MO’s but all I know is every time I go I am impressed. The meat is so tender and not chewy at all. The brisket has a nice layer of fat marbled in it and the chicken was seasoned very well. The pinto beans taste more like refried beans with bits of brisket in it. Again this is a go to quick spot for some TX BBQ.
Food is always hot and tasty
Really tasty
Great food, service and atmosphere.

I understand that they don't allow animals, but they should be considerate when someone brings an animal in a dog crate and it's at least protected from the summer heat. I asked them to please let me bring it in their little dog crate, and they didn't mind. I told them that if I left it outside in the heat, they didn't care.
Best ribs!! The rib plate is my favorite. Love the cream corn and the macaroni and cheese. They also have delicious chocolate cake! Never disappointed
Stopped in for lunch
Great brisket, sausage and chicken. Finally found a BBQ Sauce I actually like. Atmosphere inside was great.
Disappointing BBQ — Clean Place, But Dry Brisket and Mediocre Flavor
I wanted to like Smokey Mo’s — the restaurant was very clean and had a nice, welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful, which I definitely appreciated.
But unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The brisket was extremely dry and lacked flavor — it honestly felt more like roast beef than Texas BBQ. The ribs were just average and didn’t leave much of an impression. On the positive side, the creamed corn was delicious, and the green beans were solid.
For the price, though, it just wasn’t worth it. There’s much better BBQ in San Antonio, and I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.
