It’s a fun place to be at However if you’re not a regular the bar tenders will ignore you and will throw a massive and I mean massive fit if they don’t get a tip. My friend usually tips by the time we are done drinking not every time we get a drink and it’s a pretty hefty tip he usually leaves but since he didn’t leave a tip on the first round the bar tender said “bye all of you bye” I asked what the problem was and he expressed his frustration on a tip I tried to give him money so he could feel better but the diva said no he didn’t want it. Just beware of the attitude the bartenders will give you. Other than that the music and vibe is great

Despite this being my first time there and good vibes DO NOT USE CARD HERE TO PAY FOR DRINKS OR ANYTHING! I pay drinks with card or open a tab anytime im out and ALWAYS tip cash so i know exactly what I'm spending. After going out on a Friday night I recieved notices on my phone (on Sunday) from my card being charged an additional $2 to EVERY transaction made for a "tip". FYI this is illegal and fraud whether it be on one transaction or several!!!! So tourist, visitors beware- I'll be reporting this to my bank and everyone under the sun, to say the least, so this doesn't happen again.

Visiting from out of town, been to SA many many times but never been here. I can’t recommend this bar highly enough. You don’t know what you’re going to get when traveling and reviews say “neighborhood/dive bar,” but I can assure you this place should be on your list. It is not a “dive,” but has the demeanor of one: VERY diverse crowd, lgbtq+, all ages, friendly staff, friendly clientele, zero attitude, and strong drinks. I didn’t start looking around until after about 30 minutes here. It has the feel and look of a dive bar, but is incredibly well-designed. It’s a low-key-chic neighborhood bar with really impressive space and architecture that you wouldn’t predict from the outside. Bathrooms were cleaner than most bars at home with appropriate gendering and locks on doors, all genders and cultures clearly welcomed. Please give Sparky’s your business. They deliver in a capacity that’s become the pride of a dying breed of gay bars!!
