Kid-friendliness: Kids liked the noodles and the vegetable tempura which is great because it’s hard to get them to eat vegetables! Personally, I put that yum yum sauce on everything I order lol. Also the staff are very accommodating and super kid friendly:) Overall, yummy food, and laid back happy environment. I’m becoming a regular :p

Food is delicious, and the chef is entertaining to watch. However, the restaurant is really smoky and deters from eating in. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We were SO impressed with this place! We called to see what their wait was and they said that it varies because it was hibachi but that they don’t cook in front of you. We decided to give it a try. SOOO glad we did. It’s definitely more of a take out place, but they do have a seating area for dine in. Our son (3) was having a blast being able to walk around since it wasn’t crazy crowded or busy. A bunch of take out orders did come in but no other dine ins. The staff were all so nice and friendly. Chef Chris did an AMAZING job and our food was delicious. Definitely will be making this our go to hibachi spot!

Kid-friendliness: Our 3 year old was just running around being chaotic as 3 year olds are but the staff were so nice and never complained or asked him to sit. He had a great time and ate all of his food which is definitely an achievement.

Absolute banger location. The previous tenant, Nama ramen, was a sacred place to us locals in the neighborhood, and Sumo Sumo respectfully fills the void it left (by moving a few blocks away).When you open your car door you can smell just how amazing the food is. Tasted incredible. Really good value/prices. One of the best spicy edamame dishes I have ever eaten. Staff and the chef at the grill was extremely kind, good vibes all around there.We ordered pick up, but if you want to dine in they did a good job at making this small place feel roomy and comfortable with 4 benches that seat 4 each.I’m so glad this place exists, it will be a regular order from us. Great job, Sumo Sumo!

I ordered two meals for take out. My husband has been in the bathroom a lot and my stomach hurts. I attempted to place a review on their website and my letters were not showing up in the boxes. I hate that I spent almost a little over $60 for this and am not able to enjoy it. We both have half of it left and it’s going in the trash. *I will say that the Sumo restaurant has never disappoint and that’s our number one hibachi restaurant in San Antonio. But, I will not be purchasing anything from Sumo Sumo. :(

This was my first time here. The food was good. The only thing I didn't care for is that the sauces are refrigerated and served cold. Also due to having fans running to assist with smoke made it cold inside. Also for dine in you are served in Togo container and given plastic utensils. But the employees were very nice.

This was an amazing place. Our chef was Tommy and he provided us with excellent service and the food was tremendous. While looking at some of the reviews they seemed negative so we were skeptical of trying, but none of the reviews seemed true in the time we were there. The service was good, everyone was nice and polite, and the food was the best i’ve ever tried. The hibachi show was as well the best i’ve ever seen, it was over all an amazing environment and experience. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a fun time and a yummy bite!
