I’ve been dying to hit this place and finally did in the drive thru today. Ordered 3 tacos: bean cheese and chorizo, carne guisada, and then a barbacoa taco. The first two tacos were great. The tortillas are good. The barbacoa left a lot to be desired. The barbacoa isn’t barbacoa, really. It’s more like a pot roast cooked in a crock pot or pressure cooker. AND it was $5.75 for one taco, which makes it the most expensive Barbacoa taco, and worst, that I’ve had in greater San Antonio. The portion size on the Barbacoa was average and certainly didn’t match the price. It was bland without much seasoning, no salt at all, and the meat was overcooked and chewy. I can’t believe they’re passing this off as Barbacoa. Now I’m headed to a different place to get a real Barbacoa taco.On a side note they don’t have tripas or carnitas there.I’ll pass on making another trip here. While I’m sure they have some great dishes, what I had wasn’t good enough to warrant more visits.

Plain and simple, Taco House provides the whole enchilada cooked just the way Grandma would. The ambiance is simple and down to earth, so are the people. The service is excellent. Breakfast and and lunch are the focus of their menu. Oh man! Not only is the food delicious, they are generous and worth the spend. Come out to the Taco House and bring some friends.

Great tacos, Great service. This place has been operating since last century. Food is generous portions and always good. My challenge is to limit eating bean/cheese/bacon tacos. Family has eaten almost all tacos on the menu and have no problem eating there often. Don't let the 1960's exterior deter you. Tacos are large, and service is quick no matter how busy. Condiments and coffee are self serve. They have day linch specials. Leave your trays and plates at the table and someone is there to clear it as you walk out the door. Tip bucket is next to register, no space on receipt to write one in. Tip your concious and be generous if you can. Even my picky teenage grand kids vote it as their favorite place for tacos. Enjoy!!Parking: Might need to park in the street at busy times.Wheelchair accessibility: No prob wheeling Mom in/out and parking her at a table.
