My wife stumbled upon Taco Palenque several years ago on a trip to San Antonio. She raved about how great it was, so next time we were in town we went as a family. And boy, she wasn’t kidding! We’ve now eaten over a dozen times at various locations, including this one in particular.

The star of the show is their grilled meat, which to me is hands-down the best of any Mexican Quick Service Restaurant that I’ve been to (and frankly, better that most sit-down restaurants too). I usually order a Pirata taco, which is a perfect and well-portioned combination of their excellent meat, tasty melted cheddar, and refried beans. We generally also order the Pancho, which is a nacho version thereof, garnished with a scoop of fresh guacamole. The taste is simply unbeatable.

What also sets them apart is a fresh, full-featured salsa bar, which includes a tomatillo salsa that’s one of the best I’ve ever had (their tatemada and avocado crema salsas are also fantastic!) Oh, and their frozen margaritas are great, and blended to order (when is the last time you’ve seen that?)

Taco P is doing it right. I only wish there was a location in DFW!

The staff speak very little English and can't help answer anything about the menu. The food wasn't presented well. The chips were stale. The food was pricey for what it was.

I came here for my lunch break and was pretty disappointed, three potato and egg tacos was almost $10, the potato quality was poor, very small, diced cubes of potato that seemed manufactured, the egg quality was decent, and the salsa Verde sauce was almost a pudding texture, not a lot of spice and not a lot of flavor in the green sauce, even the water tasted like super unfiltered tapwater, very disappointing 10 dollars spent here

I order all the time from the Stone Oak location and its always on point. I went to the 1604 & Culebra location recently, ordered Matamoros plate and the meat definitely lacked flavor and the coffee tasted disgusting. Not sure why it tasted the way it did but I had to buy another drink thus wasting money on the coffee I bought.
So today I tried the Bandara & 1604 location, which i left a review on their location as well. Same plate, Matamoros. Again, the meat lacks flavor and not to mention there was so much hard chuey pieces of fat that I had to remove as I was eating from both tacos. The salsa in the bag was all messy with salsa inside of it. The tea tastes horrible. Not sure why it tastes very funny, not sure if its the containers not being cleaned properly or if its chemical taste.
All I know is that the Stone Oak location is on point & this location & bandara location needs to get some pointers on how Stone Oak is being managed.

Caldo de Rez needs a lot of improvement has little to no taste, nothing like made at home flour tortillas are made well barbaqoa is very good as well menudo and caldo not very tasty

I like the chip bar, and the food was great , ask for 2 extra tortillas and was given to me , great job very happy

It's supposed to be open 24hours but this the 3rd time I come to the restaurant and the dining is close at 1am only drive through is open. It's really misleading and very disappointing.
