Tacos are pretty good. Nothing special. Their salsas though, are DIVINE!! The salsa is what makes the taco special! The green salsa is packed with flavor and a little heat. Although I spent $8 something on breakfast tacos and a drink. Definitely a little expensive. I had 1 bean and cheese, 1 chorizo and egg, and a large sweet tea. I saw the guy ringing in the tacos, both were under $2 each. Was a large sweet tea really $4???

The tortillas are freshly made and the Pirata Taco and Gordita were stuffed to the brim. The latter would make a meal by itself and it only costs $4.95. But the real kicker for this place is their red sauce. It has a nice tang with some earthiness and sweetness and quite a burst of heat. It complements the items it is added to without taking over, though you will definitely feel the burn. Taco Rey is a small place, but they are big on flavor and portions and they are definitely a good destination for Mexican food with a kick!

Wow! SRO on a Saturday. 4 people waiting for to go orders. Tables are 1/3 occupied. Ordered migas plate. So far very speedy service. Will rate later and add stars.

Ok. Here's my unbiased review. GO HUNGRY! THIS WAS THE BEST MIGAS PLATE EVER! Even the tortillas were amazing!

This is hands down, the best breakfast taco place in San Antonio! I have been coming here for almost 8 years (as soon as I moved to San Antonio) and even after moving 30+ minutes away 4 years ago, we still come get tacos a couple times a week. It’s that good! The people that work here are so sweet and hardworking! That red salsa, I will literally buy the large container and put it on everything for about a week at home. It’s liquid gold!!

Kid-friendliness: My toddler loves the potato and egg tacos.

Great breakfast tacos made fresh to order. Staff is friendly and attentive. Decor and menu board could use a refresh, seems the tacos run about 50 cents higher than advertised, but are still worth it.

The cook will rip you off. he will short you on your order. The cook is a total pos, but the food is good.

I love this place! Whether I'm ordering for pickup or dining in, the staff is nice. I've tried several things on the menu and so far I haven't been disappointed. One of favorites is the beef or chicken norteno!!!

Taco Rey Taqueria is hands down the best spot for breakfast tacos in town! I always get their 3 for $4.50 chorizo and egg tacos, and they never disappoint. The flavors are consistently amazing, the tortillas are always fresh, and the portions are generous. The service is quick, and the staff is friendly. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Taco Rey Taqueria is a must-visit for authentic and delicious tacos. Highly recommend!

Me and wife have been coming here for years now; even after moving out the area. If your looking for fresh Mexican food cooked straight from your mom's kitchen this is the place to come. There salsa is to die for; some of the most flavorful and spicy salsa in all San Antonio. Customer service is top notch! Alot of people will confuse a readiness to work hard and fast for looking mean or upset. Every time we visit, me and my wife enjoy the great conversations about or family's. Even if your not in the area, come experience great food at a price you can't beat.

Vegetarian options: There is no veggie options.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have two handicap parking with a ramp that get you access to the whole plaza.
