Really enjoyed dinner! I had the beef enchiladas and they were going up against one of my top places. Tacos El Rey does not disappoint. The carne guisada with cheese was fair to decent but did not top my other location. Overall I’ll be recommending and coming back.

Bean and cheese was disgusting. Beans tasted burnt, and old and was black with crust. Prices here are ridiculous expensive. Hands down worse mexican food i’ve ever had food just wasn’t it.

Ordered the huevos rancheros. The bean’s tasted like can beans no flavor.
Thai salsa ranchera was bland.
The carne guisada had no flavor and was runny. Tortillas were chewy.
The only thing that was good was the coffee.
Oh and tea was weak!😡😡😡

Cashier is rude as hell, want to over charge you for their tacos. Want to charge you $5 for a bacon n potato and $4.25 for carne guisada. Then they want to charge you extra for using your card. Food is decent but definitely not work the overpricing and rudeness of the old lady cashier.

The prices are ridiculously high. Over $12 for beef or chicken enchiladas and almost $4 for a cup of tea. This is the most expensive place in that area and higher than places in the northeast side! I bought a Piccadillo taco and it was very greasy. It was like they scraped the last of the pan. It didn’t even come with lettuce or tomato . The meat was very tiny sized. . It was a to go so wasn’t going to bother driving back.

Good constant Mexican food. The service is great. The large bowl of menudo is huge. It's enough to get an extra empty bowl and share it.

I drive from Poteet to the West side just for the Chalupas and bean and cheese tacos. My kids and grandkids request each weekend. The wait staff is great. Best beans ever 😋🤤

GOOD SERVICE, BUT THERE FOOD IS NO GOOD, THE BEANS ARE ALWAYS BLACK AND OLD, THE REST IF FOOD IS NOT GOOD, THE COFFEE IS EXTREMELY WATERED DOWN.
