This place use to be good in the beginning. Now they’ve fallen off. The asada taste like rubber. Chips stale the last two times. I go back & tell them & they think I’m lying. I had to make the guy eat one to believe me.

Tacos El Regio, located in the heart of St. Mary's, San Antonio, is a popular spot for late-night eats, especially among club goers. Known for its illuminated signage, dessert options, and English-friendly food descriptions, it attracts a diverse crowd despite its higher than average prices. The menu features notable items like Mini Tacos, giant torta, and charro beans, with meats limited to asada, pollo, and pastor. They also offer a bean and cheese taco, their least expensive option. The restaurant has a few tables for sit-down dining, and play boom box music while eating, creating a lively atmosphere. Customers often find the food to be fresh and hot, with delicious salsa options and friendly service that makes visitors feel welcome. Many reviewers mention the flavorful tacos, especially the pastor and tripa, with sauces that are spicy and tasty. The asada quesadilla and esquites are also favorites. One reviewer highlighted the orange creme sauce, calling it so good that they would buy it for homemade shrimp tacos. Others praise the filling and delicious tacos, noting that the frijoles charros aren’t greasy and the sauces have a good spice. The staff accepts cash or credit, and the food is not greasy at all. Customers receive a buzzer to pick up their food once ready, and there are picnic tables for dining or options to take food home. The bright orange taco truck is easy to spot on Rygsby near 410, and the bilingual staff makes ordering simple. While parking may be limited and lines can be long on busy nights, the quality of the food and lively atmosphere make it a highly recommended spot for a late-night bite. Overall, Tacos El Regio offers flavorful tacos, a fun environment, and friendly service that keeps customers coming back.
