I had a wonderful breakfast experience here! Even though there was a small hiccup, the staff more than made up for it. The waitresses were incredibly friendly, always smiling, and very courteous throughout our visit. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic Mexican cuisine. What really stood out was the personal touch: the owner came by and was extremely warm and welcoming. It’s clear they care about their customers and take pride in their service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great, authentic Mexican food. I’ll definitely be back!

Moving to Old Town Helotes a few years ago was one of the best decisions we ever made such a great part of town! BUT we were unable to find a Mexican restaurant that we really enjoyed near our home. This place is still a 20 minute drive . . We've sampled so many places along Bandera, but this one? It's hands down our favorite! My wife loves their tortillas and breakfast And for me, their menudo and caldo de res are definitely one of my favorites in San Antonio Every single visit has been a delight, thanks to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff who always make us feel right at home. We've even had the sweetest surprise of bumping into distant family members here!

Family of 5, went there the meat was hard as a rock. Went to pay for our food at the register—was the owner she rudely snapped at us claiming the meat was fine and said we went there to get free meal in front of a line of people. She embarrassed my family, her attitude was unacceptable and uncalled for. Never going back. She ruined our day.

We have been here 3 times for breakfast & it has been spot on. Try the cafe de olla it’s made with cinnamon & sugar. They serve it in a cute little clay mug. So cute. Tortillas are fresh & the salsas are good.

They make the flour tortillas from scratch everyday. They also sell them by the dozen at a reasonable price. The food is always on point especially breakfast.

Vanessa was the best… very sweet great customer service- food was amazing! Would have been 5 stars but Carla, the girl who was the cashier had a horrible attitude. When she was helping Vanessa with our order a member of my party asked her something about the order and she said “that’s all there is- I don’t know what you’d like for me to do.” I also asked her a simple question and the attitude behind her response and her character was horrible. Glad she wasn’t my actual waitress! Great place but a horrible end to a good visit here. Note to owner: She will cost you great reviews !

First time here yesterday.. Hoped to see Vanessa who I was told works here now. (My favorite server ever) Missed her but the place was clean, service was good, and the food was on point. Had the cheese enchilada plate with chiles toreados and a sweet tea.

Warning this restaurant charges 2.99 percent on all card purchases. Why not just go cash? Ricos tacos across the street has better service and doesn't get confused what you ordered! Card processing fees are a business expense that the business pays for! I don't think it's ethical to get your customers to cover that expense!

The Chicharron Prensado is top notch. It's spicy and meaty, not chewy or soggy at all. I would have it everyday if I could. And the salsas are both great.
