We had egg salad sandwich with pablano soup and Bacon avocado, lettuce and tomato sandwich (BALT).
Soup was good with just the right amount of kick, eggs salad ok. BALT was a little dry and avocados were brown.
Both sandwiches served with huge. Delicious chocolate chip cookie.
Walk up counter service, everyone was very friendly.
Located in Artisan Alley, very tricky to find.
Cute decor.

Such a cute space! Had a tea, delicious chocolate croissant and English muffins to go. Everyone was so friendly and hospitable.

I booked this business at the beginning of August for a double birthday celebration with my friend. Over the phone, I confirmed the date and time, paid a $100 deposit, and even worked directly with the owner to arrange a custom cake. I gave another $95 deposit plus a $20 tip for the cake. Everything was confirmed in advance.
A few days before the event, I received a call saying they had double booked our time slot and asked if we could either sit outside (in 95+ degree weather!) or reduce our guest count last minute, both of which were unacceptable since I had RSVPs confirmed. I was told they would figure it out, so I trusted them to handle it.
When we arrived, the table wasn’t even set up on time, and we waited 15-20 minutes in the hall despite having a timed reservation. Our server was inattentive and cold. She seemed unaware of the cake we had ordered and even asked to take my phone to the back to remind the owner what the cake was supposed to look like. Later, we were told that our custom cake had been mistakenly given to another customer. Instead, we were offered cupcakes which arrived an hour later, with no explanation of what type of cupcake it was, no candles, no effort to acknowledge it was a birthday celebration.
The service throughout was poor. For 15 guests, we were given only two teapots w/ one refill per (not nearly enough), and many people had to wait for tea that did not get it in the first round or water refills. When the food came out, there were no serving utensils. We asked for some and were handed just one pair of tongs for the entire table. The server acted as though we were a burden, while their “main” table (the one they double booked over us) received the attention we should have had.
The icing on the cake was that, towards the end, when it was obvious we were upset and disappointed, a staff member actually asked if they could take a photo of us (dressed in our nice outfits) to post on their social media story as if our experience had been something worth showcasing. When we received the bill, I was in shock they added a 20% gratuity fee to a service that was at best half of that, without any apology from the server for the constant lack of service.
This was an embarrassing and deeply disappointing experience as some people had driven from Austin for this celebration. We left feeling unwelcome and undervalued. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place.

They made us wait outside even though it was already reserved & our birthday planners arrived on time. Apparently they didn't realize it was doubled booked & had seated us in the hallway. It was so uncomfortable with people constantly passing by, squishing past us. Many people kept intruding our privacy since we were by the front entrance/walkway. It was also one of the hottest restaurants I've been in with no AC or air flow. I was slipping off the vinyl seats in my sweat.
The food was tasty enough but the frosting was incredibly sweet & overbearing. I couldn't finish the cupcakes and apparently, they gave my friend's cake away so it wasn't even the right dessert we were supposed to have.
I did eat here before with my husband years ago but he did not enjoy it due to feeling that the place was overpriced. Sad to say that I have to agree now. I would be okay paying high prices but their poor services do not make it worth it.
Due to this poor treatment, I won't be returning again. I do not recommend making reservations or bakery orders here because they do not honor them.

We made a reservation for a birthday party but they were double booked on the same date and placed us at the very squished table for 15 people. The table was not even in the restaurant but the waiting area. They also gave the cake that we custom ordered for $95 to someone else. We got 3 platters of food for $25 per person, plus gratuity. They gave us no discount for total $470 spent with the mess ups. Was it worth it for the aesthetic?

I had lunch with a family member at The Bread Box. She wanted to go there for her birthday.
We both ordered the sandwich and soup from the lunch menu.
We sat in the corner so we could have a quiet lunch to catch up.
What I noticed immediately that our table was wobbly.
I accidentally spilled my drink when I was trying to fix the table.
I asked one of the employees if she could put something underneath the table to help balance the table.
The employee quickly took charge to assist us.
Which was great.
I also noticed that the tea room itself was very hot.
Both myself and my niece were extremely hot and
sweaty, which made things unpleasant.
Both of us keep wiping our faces and padding our forehead because it was so hot.
I hope the owners can repair their AC unit if it was broken because the temperature was way too hot for the number of people that were in the restaurant.
I hope to return in the near future when the temperature is cooler in SA.

We needed a custom cake for my son’s surprise 17th birthday party. I was contacted very quickly after filling out the online request and was able to work with them on my budget and some ideas of what we wanted. If you interact with teenagers, you know they can be hard to impress but all the teens at the party were obsessed with the Love Island themed cake! It was beautiful and delicious. Tina and the rest of the team at The Bread Box are amazing!!

Such a cute place for tea, brunch, or lunch. The food was yummy and the staff was very kind. We stopped in for lunch but plan on returning to book a tea party.

Save your pinkies and make tea at home! I attended a tea party here with a group of six and left feeling incredibly disappointed. We paid close to $200, and it just wasn’t worth it. The portions were small, the cups were dirty, and the staff was surprisingly rude and unwelcoming. For a tea party, you’d expect charm and hospitality this was anything but. The whole experience felt overpriced and underwhelming. Definitely wouldn’t recommend or return.Do yourself a favor grab some scones from the store and host your own tea party. It’ll be cheaper, cleaner, and a whole lot more fun.

The place itself was cute and had a nice ambiance, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations—especially considering the price. The portion sizes were small, and the service left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed disengaged, almost like they didn’t want to be there.
Cleanliness was also a concern. One of my cups had a visible lipstick stain, and the silverware didn’t look properly cleaned. Even my water glass had lip marks on it, which was pretty off-putting.
I really wanted to like this place, but there are some basic issues that need improvement before I’d consider coming back.

Atmosphere was ok. The servers all seemed annoyed when asked for refills. We asked one server to take a picture of our party and you could tell she was annoyed, took a quick pic and hurried us to take the phone back.Could not believe how much it cost for sandwiches and tea. Portions were crazy small.

Such an adorable place you can't help but wander in and it's filled with delicious fresh baked goods and a restaurant with amazing food. It's so fun to stop in and get some tea and a bite to eat while shopping here. Pictured is bread pudding French toast, also got the smash burger and it was dang good! Took some muffins from the bakery home, delicious. Such a fun place you won't regret stopping by!

First time customer, first upon arrival it was a little confusing finding where to check in to be seated. It was very warm inside. My major issue was the tea department....the tea station was unkept and very little tea available in the pitchers. The tea was too watery and flavorless. The server was randomly bringing serveral table orders out to the tables asking if that was what they ordered. My plate was taken to another table and then bought to my table as well as the other tables plate was brought to my table. The food was tasty and the chocolate chip cookie was delicious. It was decent.
