Brussels sprouts and drinks were the best, but that’s where this ends. This isn’t a “BBQ” place, more like an Asian fusion restaurant. Food came out at very different times and was already very slow even though it was just after opening. Food undercooked, brisket ramen doesn’t actually have any beef in it. We complained and staff did their best to make it all right, but with there being plenty of other high caliber restaurants at the pearl, cannot recommend here to anyone.

We had lunch there and it was very good. Pork ribs had a nice flavor, but a bit too much salt for my taste. Salt was killing the taste. Brisket was kinda bla, not much flavor. I would go back, though, to try their dinner menu, it sounded great! We loved the restaurant, and our server was attentive and hospitable. She was the one who described the dinner options to us, we were getting hungry listening to her. It is a very welcoming place. Iced tea was fantastic.

Walking in I knew what to expect from the videos I've seen previously. I ordered the bbq Benedict, scotch egg, and Bloody Mary. Loved it! You can tell the pride of a chef when salt and pepper are not offered on the tables. The food was seqssoned perfectly! Will come again for a dinner meal. The waitstaff as well were super friendly. Wonderful brunch!

This place is a sit down restaurant that serves BBQ off a menu. The brisket was just ok because mine was a tad dry - like it was sitting on the plate for a while? While TX monthly has this place rated high - my take is this is one that is not top 50 brisket. If you are doing a BBQ Tasting tour skip this one.

Tried this place out on a Saturday night, no wait. We ordered the Texas toast, pork sliders, and Thai brisket. We asked for the toast to come out first but the sliders did so that kind of ruined the flow of dinner as my husbands meal came out 20 minutes before mine. The Texas toast was somewhat bland to me. The pork sliders were delicious and the Thai brisket was a total miss, super super super salty. I don't feel like you get a good amount of food for the price and the menu options weren't really that of what you'd expect from a Barbecue place, even for the pearl. Our server was literally just an order taker with no recommendations. I don't think we'd ever return.

Had a pretty good dinner here the other night. I started with the grit fritters, followed by the fatty brisket. The only thing that kept this from five stars were the grit fritters; deep fried balls of something that could have been grits, about the size of a large marble. They, and their sauce, did not really do anything to set the mood for the meal. I like and respect the chef, but my honest opinion is that this item and its sauce need to go. Replace it with pork belly & watermelon tacos. The fatty brisket with homemade kimchi were an excellent pair, and both went nicely with my old fashioned. The service was 100%. (In fact, if all they served was deep fried twinkies & SPAM, I would still go there for the service.) I recommend overall and will be back--if the chef lets me after I criticized his grits, a normally unforgivable offense in the South.

Four words that will change your life... ...BURNT ENDS AND MUSHROOMS... ...nothing more.

First timer and man did we eat well. The brisket was out of this world good. But the real MVP was the grilled mushrooms; they were meaty and just tasted so good with the duck fat. Not exactly cheap but worth it. We spent $175 for 7 dishes to split with 4 ppl.

Pricey, but everything we ate was amazing. Good for a business dinner or special occasion. With a larger group you can order a mixture of small and large plates which allows everyone to sample and you get away with less entrees.

I'm honestly not sure why this place has such rough reviews! I was initially concerned because of my dietary restrictions (no pork) but that's a normal thing for me to have concern over. However when I got the chance to look at the menu they had plenty of options available for me to choose from! For my appetizer I had the smoked fried chicken wings. Well, to be accurate my companion ordered some, I tried them and was so impressed we ordered another one! Just Smoky, fried deliciousness with a great kick of spice from the hot oil! For our main course the brisket ramen did not disappoint! Full bodied broth and very flavorful composition overall. Let me caveat that with staying this is NOT a ramen restaurant. Therefore, you should definitely not order this dish if you're looking for a traditionally flavored ramen. But the smoked brisket adds such a great dimension to the flavor that I didn't mind the deviation at all; and that's coming from a ramen fanatic! To make things even better, they prepared too many of the brisket and kimchi plates in the kitchen so we were able to try that for free 99: my favorite price!!! And the house made kimchi? It's the Truth!!! Here's a tip for those of you who like a strong drink with their food fare: Thursdays you'll find happy hour goes all evening and the apps are half off! I'm definitely returning for a second go round, and likely a third and fourth as well. This is my kind of joint, to my surprise. Try it out! You won't be disappointed

Cute place. Good service. I wasn't absolutely blown away with their brunch. Not the biggest fan of German potato salad which was the side For a couple of their dishes. I had the BBQ Benedict. My egg was way underdone. Good presentation. The brisket tasted good. I would recommend the scotch egg and bacon. Sorry my photos are poor quality.
