First time here after trying back in Nov. Wait time was 1 hour 40 mins, so we took a stroll around the Riverwalk and then ended up driving around. I will say the food was basic, nothing special as in taste, the biscuits were pretty big, not dry but not too moist either. The house itself is very nice and I love how you can go up to view some of the house. Our waitress was very nice and speedy. It took a little over 20 mins for our food.

Great place for breakfast. We went on Father's day and the wait wasn't bad. Had the quiche of the day, strawberry waffle and the 1851 platter. Food was good and atmosphere perfect.

Guenther House was awesome. It took a little while to get a table. But it was worth it. The food was delicious, the pancakes and waffles were great.I'm looking forward to coming by again. While waiting, make sure to take a walk around. It's quite lovely. There is also a little shop and museum to see some of the history of the house.

There were 9 of us. We placed our order and waited an hour and a half for the food. They didn't bring my daughter's BLT until everyone else at the table had finished their lunch. My Chicken Salad plate had about 3 tablespoons of chicken on it. These items were about $13.50 each. The waitress was rude. We were miserable. I will never go back there. Neither will anyone else in my group.

We’ve been waiting here for tow hours and it has not been possible to have our meal! I told them we werr waiting with three kids that were really hungry cause they didn’t have breakfast (cause the wanted their waffles) and it’s 1 pm. Nobody cares.

Food is very tasty yet very overpriced. I give it 5 stars due to the fact that you're paying for the experience, the ambience is out of this country. Very European vibes. Their patio is one of the most beautiful patios in the entire city. In my opinion my favorite waffles in San Antonio.

I came by before Covid and had breakfast I remembered it was fairly decent! Came back all these years later and glad to report it lived up to its hype. I got the grilled chicken break sandwich. (Ask for cholula) the chips were amazing the fruits were fresh and juicy. The breast was huge and filling topped with fresh veggies, melted cheese, and an ok bread that holds it all together nicely. I also go the waffle of the day and it’s Toasted Almonds. So so good. I ordered the maple that’s like $3 more it wasn’t too sweet complimented by amazing almonds that pair so perfectly with fluffy waffle, and melty butter. The food water and atmosphere were on point today. Coffee was hot which I appreciated. Ordered a biscuit with raspberry jam and side of butter for later. Will be back.

Lovely breakfast. The pancakes were yummy and service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit. We arrived around 9am and there wasn't a wait. When we were done it was a bit busier.

One of the oldest houses in San Antonio, Texas, the art nouveau Guenther House in Pioneer Flour Mills was built in 1859 and has been converted into a restaurant/museum that offers homey American and Tex-Mex fare, breakfast, brunch and lunch and outdoor dining on the San Antonio River. Located at 205 East Guenther Street, in the King William neighborhood, and open from 8 to 2 Wednesday through Sunday, it also features baked fresh daily pastries and custom roasted Founder's Choice coffee. Visitors can tour the restored house, which was opened to the public in 1988 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and visit the museum, the San Antonio River Mill Store and the gourmet gift shop. Today, the only portion of the original structure that is visible from the outside is the one-story stone section that faces the river. As extensive as the exterior changes were, it was on the inside of The Guenther House that Erhard Guenther, the son of the patriarch who built the house, left his mark most dramatically, the look that it has today. My wife and I toured the house, then enjoyed breakfast. I chose the 1851 Breakfast Platter with a fluffy biscuit and strawberry jam, a side of country gravy with crumbled sausage served with two scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, Applewood smoked bacon and pork sausage patty. My wife opted for the Strawberry Sweet Cream Waffle, the house's classic Southern Sweet Cream Belgian waffle topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream and served with pork sausage patties. Most desirable items on the lunch menu, served from 10:30 to 2, are the Deli sandwich with thinly sliced turkey breast, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo and house-made raspberry chipotle sauce on freshly baked bread and the Club sandwich with thinly sliced ham and turkey, Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar and Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on freshly baked bread. With fruit, potato chips and a pickle spear.

The prices were pretty good for the area and setting. The waffle was decent, but the scrambled egg didn’t taste like real egg and the biscuits were dense and dry.

Went here for breakfast based on several recommendations. The food was perfectly average, but certainly did not live up to the hype or the price.

Arrived on a Sunday morning and checked in at 10am. The wait time was 35 minutes. As we were being seated, the wait time was up to 1hr 45 minutes. Get here early! While waiting, we enjoyed the history of Guenther House, a game of corn hole, and a hot cup of coffee. The patio and grounds are serene. Guenther House is always a must do when we visit San Antonio. The eggs have always been made to order and I can't complain about anything! Don't forget to stop by the shop upstairs and tour the historic home.
