Absolutely delicious! Every bite was fantastic!
So disappointed. I went here today with my family and I'm livid. I ordered the fish and grits plate which is SUPPOSED to come with rice and cabbage. When our food came out there was no rice or cabbage with my plate even though it says that's what it comes with on the menu. When we asked the young man who brought us our food about the sides, and pointed out that it says they're included on the menu he simply said, "Nah..". The young lady who took our order recommended I order an extra piece of fish because they cut the fillet in half. She failed to mention that the flavorless, burnt catfish fillets are HUGE. Not sure why she insinuated they were small, maybe to get that $4 upcharge idk. The fish was huge, bland, and the breading was thick and burnt. It was so burnt that I was only able to eat half a fillet. The grits were really tasty though. My boyfriend ordered the mixed chicken. The fried chicken was decent, but the jerk chicken was flavorless, only seasoning on the top. The mac and cheese was ok. It tasted like box mac with someone extra cheese and seasonings, but somehow that was still bland too. The yams were just ok, not horrible, but nothing special. My bonus baby got 3 pieces of fried chicken, that he enjoyed very my much(he's 4). My bf said the fried chicken was cooked well, but also BLAND. In all we ordered the fish and grits plate w/ an extra fillet(got NO sides), the mixed chicken plate w/ mac and yams, 3 pieces of fried chicken, and 2 ginger beers for a grand total of $84. I heard good things about this place which is why we decided to try it. Not sure what's happened with the food or if it was always like this, but I feel completely bamboozled, and I'll never eat here again.
If we had tasted the food we actually ordered for delivery, we may have given it a better review. Wasn't impressed with part of the order we got for the money. Sad customer service was so

Delicious food, though a bit more expensive than I expected. The place is very popular, so the restaurant can become incredibly packed - if we go again, we would at an off time or order to-go. The chopped tacos with the coleslaw were delicious!

Went to try the Rasta pasta but it's only served one day of the week and when I returned on that specified day ( Tuesday )they had already ran out. Very disappointed having to wait for it to be available and then they don't have enough to serve it on that one day of the week.
Do not go here. They were out of the things that we went there for, waited 40 minutes, and they forgot one of our sides. Overpriced and badly managed.
First time my husband & I have gone. I was looking forward to their Jerk Chicken & was unaware they had Fried Chicken. We saw The Mixed Chicken Plate that gives you 2 Jerk Chicken, 2 Fried Chicken & 2 sides. We placed the order & right before paying, the young man at the register said the Jeek Chicken was going to be a 45-minute wait. We didn't want to wait & just got the Fried Chicken. For my sides, I tried the Pineapple Coleslaw & The Yams.
My husband ordered the Fries & Cheese Grits. About 8 minutes later, our food came out & my husband got their Mac instead of the Fries he ordered. The young man noticed & said he'd go get us the Fries. Almost 5 minutes later, my husband got up to ask for his Fries.
The Fries were different in a good way. A hint of sweetness & spices. The Grits were good but, next time I might order it without the cheese. It wasn't melted, it was just cheese🤷🏻♀️. The Mac we got by mistake was good & cheesy(melted this time). The Pineapple Coleslaw was different in a good way but I may not order it again. The Yams were good & tasted like Yams with Brown Sugar🤷🏻♀️.
Now the Fried Chicken was good😋 Maybe just a tad too salty for me but the Yams balanced it out😆. Maybe we'd give it another chance but just call ahead to see how long the wait is for their Jerk Chicken🤷🏻♀️
We got there around 5:54 p.m. Our Total was $45.30. The bathrooms were Bright but needed to be picked up. They have a nice Garage/Patio seating.

I keep coming back to The Jerk Shack because of the convenience and the nostalgic flavors as a Guyanese—there's something about a warm beef patty and soft cocoa bread that just hits the spot. When they get it right, it's perfect. But the inconsistency? That's where things get frustrating.
Some days, the patties and bread are fresh and flavorful, and other days, they’re either too spicy or hard bread. This last visit, the patties AND bread were burnt, which was disappointing. The inconsistency makes it a gamble—sometimes it’s a great meal, other times, not so much.
Would I come back? Yes, but only because I love the flavors when they’re done right. If they could get the quality control sorted out, this place would easily be a five-star spot...for me.
The food was great but a bit heavy for my taste. The mac and cheese was extra cheesy, the plantains were perfectly cooked, and the greens balanced out the rich flavors. The shrimp had a great texture crispy and cooked just right. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was quick and self seating.

So I visited today on purpose for the Boycott Buy Black Wednesdays Movement. I ordered the three piece sticky chicken rice & peas, plantains and fries. Everything was tasty. Timely and neat presentation. I encourage the team to pay closer attention to dinning area as floors were untidy and maybe a turn off for some. I'll be back again on a Wednesday 🙅🏾♀️

Got the oax tail, wasn't bad
Had them up a notch and made it spicy. Coming down here from NY, it's a little different, but not bad. Serve only on the weekends.

Went Sunday with my family after church and all of us are dealing with the consequences now. Their jerk chicken was undercooked and we are all suffering from food poisoning now. That was my first and last time.

Went through drive thru for pickup at time told to show up online. Rep said they are working on orser. The person at window kept taking inside customer orders while my food just sat at the kitchen counter. Terrible prioritization of work load, learn that inside customers don't take priority or be more aware and get food out in a timely manner.
