This place is one of my favorites! We don't come to San Antonio often, but when we do, this place is always a must stop. We really appreciate the ambiance, mood, and food. We always look on the walls for the neat charactures on the wall. Highly recommend.

The food is excellent! My steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sides were delicious. The servings are generous. I had leftovers for another fabulous meal the next day. The service is excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was able to answer any questions we had. The ambience of the restaurant provides a relaxing and private experience. It’s a wonderful place to go for lunch or dinner, especially to celebrate a special event.

Inconsistent Quality: fabulous service, Warm Lobster Soup and Disappointing FoodMy recent experience at [The palm] left much to be desired, as I encountered a series of disappointments throughout the meal. While the customer service was commendable, the same cannot be said for the culinary offerings.Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the attentive staff, setting a positive tone for the evening. However, this positivity quickly waned when the food arrived. The lobster soup, touted as a specialty, was served warm but nowhere near the hot temperature one would expect. This lack of attention to detail was a recurring theme throughout the meal. The crabcake, though promising, was overcooked and dry, failing to deliver on its potential. The lamb chops, while satisfactory, lacked the finesse and flavor one would hope for. Even the dessert fell short of expectations, lacking the indulgent sweetness anticipated. To compound matters, shortly after leaving the restaurant, I experienced severe cramps and gastrointestinal distress, indicating potential issues with food quality or preparation. While the exemplary customer service is to be commended, it cannot overshadow the inconsistencies and shortcomings in the dining experience. Until significant improvements are made to both the food quality and consistency, I would hesitate to recommend [The Palm] to others.

We ordered lunch to go for our bosses birthday from here and it was the best decision ever. My boss is very picky and hard to impress when it comes to food but after she had her tomahawk ribeye she was blown away by how good it was. She loved it and couldn’t stop going on that this by far is the best birthday lunch she has ever had. All the other employees also ordered from here and could agree more that not only was the food was amazing but the portion sizes were big. We will be definitely be getting lunch from here on a more regular basis. Also big thank you to Belinda she was the one who took our order and made sure everything came out great also was nice enough to bring it out to me so I didn’t have to get down. She also added a little birthday note for my boss which was extremely thoughtful.

If your looking for a nice but still relaxing place to enjoy amazing food this is the place to go. I have been here multiple times and have never been let down. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the service is enjoyable. If you are on a budget their lunch plates are extremely affordable and still cooked with high quality ingredients. We even had a birthday dinner here and made reservations and when we arrived we were amazed to see the table decorated which I thought was above and beyond.

The last two times visiting the palm have been bad. Two times ago the service was atrocious. We were the servers only customer, and she disappeared several times. When she was in the dining room, she was focused on talking to her coworkers and never checked on us.Yesterday we made the mistake of going back to the palm. We were in the mood for prime rib and were very disappointed. We received a 1 1/2 inch tough-chewy piece of meat that was seared on all sides. That's not prime rib.Tilman has killed the palm. We will never be back.

Usually "fancy" places give you baby portions. We ordered too much as the servings were of good size. The food was as expected - delightful! I want to know more about the decor. This is one of those tomes when everything was just right, I don't remember what we ordered, like it all just melted into a tasty sensation - there was steak, seafood, pasta, veggies, drinks, etc...it was everything.

4.3 stars. 1st time to eat here. Business meal for our party of 10. Appetizers were mixed as the calamari was overcooked and quite rubbery while the shrimp was not only juicy and perfectly fried but also super fresh. The pork belly was average. The wedge salad was more appropriate for two to three but had a generous serving of blue cheese crumbles and bacon. The 8 oz filet was cooked perfectly rare as ordered. The blue cheese crust was underwhelming and a bit salty. Sides were good particularly the potatoes au gratin. Risotto was meh as were the green beans with prosciutto. The dessert drink of Liquor 43 and espresso was deceptively good and smooth. Be sure to order one post meal! Service was solid as the Palm team kept drinks filled and plates cleared. I didn’t get to see the final bill but imagine it to have cost a good mortgage payment and then some. Overall, this was an enjoyable meal. Pricey but good but just not one of those “one of the best meals of my life” moments.Kid-friendliness: Would not recommend bringing young kids here as the setting is more for special occasions, dates, and business deals.

Was a date night for me and my better half and we’d made reservations for 8:00p. When we arrived promptly at 8am we were told there would be a 15 minute wait or we could sit outside. Since we were attending a show later that evening we weren’t left with much of an option so we sat outside. We ordered a dozen oysters and while they came promptly following our drinks they were not the worst they were average at best. After finishing the appetizer and another drink it had been 30 minutes so we inquired about the entrees, waiters response, ‘well they’re not not coming’ with a bit of a sarcastic smirk as if to be making light of the situation. Would’ve been nice had he said let me get us an update. 20 minutes later her salmon and my filet arrived. As I attempted to cut into the steak it seemed rather ‘tough’. I had ordered it medium rare and when the first slice was grey all the way through I decided to cut through the center of the steak only to find a medium to medium well filet in front of me. 10 minutes after dropping to entrees the server returned and I pointed out the issue. He looked at it and said ‘appears medium rare to me’. I said ‘well it’s not’. He got a floor manger who came over and half way apologized for the situation saying something to the effect of I’m referring to some different form of medium rare. After explaining that we didn’t have anymore time she went to remove the steak from the bill. When she returned the bill I noticed that I had been charged for two steaks and credited one. I had to go track her down to correct the issue to which she seem bothered. Worst experience I’ve ever had dinning out, especially given the prices which aren’t even close to merited.

I went to open table to make my reservation and saw that there was a lot of options so decided to just go. Once we got there we were greeted by a host that said I needed a reservation. So I went to open table and made one as there were still many reservations available. Went back inside and told the host I got a reservation to my surprise she became upset and rudely said like I told you before there aren’t any tables available. That’s is not what she said before. What she said is that I needed a reservation, which I got. Nonetheless I think my palm days are over.

Amy is a rockstar and we keep coming back for her service, positive attitude and the food quality . She is truly an asset to the Palm. Along with the management team that ensures everything is in order with our experience.
