Business dinner for 6. The tapas are excellent and the black paella suits our palate. I’d rate this higher had it not been for the lady wait staff. She (African American)seemed annoyed and hurried and a bit condescending. Almost made me felt stupid. We’re from out of town attending business conference.
I researched and reserved this place and kind of embarrassed to my team mates.
The servers were great except for HER out of our experience. I would have let it pass and left itoutt Ty of this review but I remembered my team lead made a comment during dinner about her. My team lead is generally the sweet and generous person.
Anyhow, we were there for the food and enjoyed it.

I went in yesterday because it was across the street from where I was staying to watch the fireworks. I didn't know what kind of restaurant it was. I was asked whether we had reservations, I did not but they sat me anyways. I sat there for about 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged, the server took my drink order. I waited probably another 20 minutes and I still hadn't gotten my drink. Another couple walked in, were seated promptly and the server went to their table immediately. I walked out. Shouldn't judge people. I'm assuming because I was dressed very casually the server didn't want to wait on me. I was excited to try paella because I've never had it. And I'm a great tipper.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the San Antonio area.
They paella de carne is an absolute must. It’s great! The flavor, colours, live music, the garden!
Everything works in this place! And then after visiting you can go to cellar an enjoy some Latino music!

I am from Spain and took some friends from SA to the Commerce location. Mind you, they had never tasted Spanish. Their sangría tasted like water. I am a sherry lover and yet thr sherry (Jerez) was watered down. I was shocked that they would do this.

I’ve tried to come to this location four times and every time they have closed hours earlier than their closing time. Management needs to do better.
We were a party of six. Four of us were there for the first time. Our server was patient as we took our time trying to decide from the many great selections. Her suggestions were spot! The food and drinks were delicious!! The paella was hands down the best I've ever had. There's a wide selection of tapas to chose from and the ones we selected did not disappoint. When our server found out we were there to celebrate two birthdays, she surpised us with a slice of cake and a tall sparkling candle. All the staff came out and sang happy birthday. We'll definitely be back!
Great food and experience.

This was our first time at Toro and my husband and I had a great experience. The service was great and food excellent. All of my favorite Spanish dishes tasted just as I remember. Would definitely recommend!

I had a couple of tapas, since I had a late, fairly heavy lunch. Here's the kicker: two of the mussels in my mejillones didn't open, so they brought me A WHOLE NEW ORDER. I just expected a lobster cracker. What service!

I was hoping for more. Everything I had was good, but not great. I asked for my steak to be medium rare, was served rare. I sent it back and they just put the steak back on grill and ended overcooking it. The bacon wrapped dates was my favorite dish. Overpriced in my opinion.

They charge a 3% fee for gift cards purchased with a credit card. Yet you can order online and have a physical giftcard mailed to you for no additional charge. No service fee... No shipping fee... Others may feel differently, but to me charging this fee is not acceptable.
