Toro Kitchen + Bar

La Canterra location. Gabriel was our server and was outstanding. His recommendations were perfect. He explained every dish he brought out. Ask for him. Being from Spain and cooking paella and making tapas, the food at Toro is authentic and wonderful. I have eaten at many “Spanish” restaurants thru out the US and this has been my favorite! Highly recommend! Ole 💃🏻

Been eyeing Toro kitchen for a while and highly recommend. Tapas are amazing and drinks even better. Thank you Diego and Megan are your bartenders. Y’all go get some good tapas and drinks!

I had an amazing dining experience at Toro! The tapas selection was absolutely delicious, with a variety of flavors that kept us excited to try each new dish. Our waiter, Gabriel, made the experience even better with his fantastic recommendations. Every dish he suggested was spot-on and added to our enjoyment of the meal. The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for a night out. I highly recommend Toro for anyone looking to enjoy great food and attentive service!

We were just at Toro’s and Megan, the lead bartender, was awesome! She is attentive, friendly and very helpful. She makes a mean margarita! Recommend sitting at the bar and enjoying a drink!

I came in and Diego the bartender was very attentive and extremely genuine. The drinks were amazing but the hospitality was even better. 10/10! Definitely will be back

Bugs. Nasty cocktails. Poor service. Enough said. We should've known our experience would be awful when we walked in and there was not a single person dining there (but all the other restaurants were packed). As soon as we were seated my mother in law picked up her silverware and a roach crawled off her plate & flew to the ground. A server immediately stepped on it but he nor our actual server bothered to bring a clean plate or napkin. Gross. We were willing to overlook this & stayed anyways. I ordered a durcal cocktail that tasted like soap and we immediately sent it back. The bartender was less than kind. I asked her about their rum selection and she could not answer my questions. We asked for toasted bread for the 2 babies we brought with us and our server told us (with a bad attitude) that the chef refused to toast the bread. When our food finally arrived we were disappointed to see that the shrimp was clearly frozen & tiny- a stark contrast to the quality and size that we get at the Stone Oak location. When we asked for a manager we were told there was not one on-site. We didn't bother eating & just tried to leave but we wanted to at least pay for our drinks- the last straw was when they attempted to charge us for the nasty drink we sent back. The server argued with my mother in law the whole time we were there. Overall horrible experience.

A friend and I were visiting San Antonio and were in search of a great meal before heading back to Houston. Toro La Cantera did not disappoint. Marcelo was a great help with the menu recommendations and was attentive throughout the meal. The Toro Paella was amazing! We will definitely return on our next visit to San Antonio!

I was at the bar on Saturday with Megan and Mary and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience. We had the Toro Paella! A couple of Carajillos Flambe that were delicious! They have a flamenco show every month, Mary helped us make reservations! We look forward to returning to Toro!

I was so hyped about this restaurant because I love Spanish food but this… was not it. The restaurant is really nice, the waitress was great but the food… I don’t understand how they call that a tortilla de patata.. that was an omelette with three pieces of potato. The gambitas al ajillo were 4 pieces of shrimp for 17$… The pulpo a la gallega was hard and chewy, the potatoes were hard too. The boquerones were tasty. Maybe it was just a bad day for them but for us, we paid way too much for too little (and I don’t mean size wise).
