I tried the Tropical Smoothie Cafe's Avocado Chicken Pita Wrap! The chicken perfectly complements the creamy avocado. Bonus points for minimal wait time. But I think the price is a bit steep for what you get. It's conveniently located near campuses. Inside is nice and employees are friendly.

I stopped by to pick up a smoothie after an oral surgery. I chose a peanut paradise smoothie. Such a delicious smoothie! It tasted like a nutter butter cookie. Taking a look at the nutrition facts online, I'm a bit disappointed that they put so much sugar in these things, and that you have to ask for a healthier option (like Splenda, or maybe no added sugar). The service was great, though. It took me a while to choose something as I had to avoid seeds after the surgery, but the person behind the counter was very patient and helpful.

Surprisingly, the food here is better than the smoothies. I tried this place for lunch one day and while I didn't finish my smoothie, because it was too sweet for my taste (possible added sugars), the sandwich that I ordered did not disappoint. I ordered online ahead of time so pick up was smooth and easy.

It Was my first time trying tropical smoothie, I got several good sounding recommendations from the tall girl working, she was very nice and attentive and had my smoothie ready in what seemed like seconds, the place was clean and is definitely a hidden gem, definitely recommend and will be back next summer when I visit.

Came into this location for the first time over the weekend and Laya was AMAZING! Greeted us like we were walking into a tías home! She helped us choose our meal and everything was on point. She informed us about different perks Tropical Smoothie Cafe offers and the health benefits of multiple drinks they make. As well as this one new customer who came in and looked very skeptical about her smoothie because of how green it was, Laya assured her she would love it if she just gave it a chance. She waited for the customer to take a drink, and when she did the customer said “oh wow, that’s very good” in which Laya replied “that’s what I love to hear” with the biggest smile on her face which put a smile on our faces as well. I usually go to the one off Potranco and 151, and although it’s a good location, this one on Medical is by far more welcoming and informative. Like I said Laya gave off “that one favorite Tía” vibe lol she even said “we make our food with love because if we didn’t, the food wouldn’t taste as good” which is so true! I hope she gets to run her own location one day because you can tell she really loves putting a smile on customers faces and takes pride in what she serves. Thank you so much again Tía Laya!!
