I have heard good things about this place unfortunately it was not my experience. poor service there were six adults and two children from the first item of food that was bought out to us that we ordered to the last person got their order was over 20 minutes. Food was not that great either I mentioned to the manager the issues and he said I will take care of you and do something for you they took off like a whole $7 off our bill which was summer around $67 and then they still put an automatic tip of 15%

Great food and service! The puffy tacos are delicious and the breakfast tacos are always good with the green salsa!

Took a friend. We had never been here. I ordered ala carte...guacamole..guisada taco on corn tortilla (first time ever had a choice on flour or corn tortilla with guisada)..puffy chicken taco..flan and sweet iced tea.The tea had a good taste and sweetened perfectly for me which is just sweet...not too sweet. I never eat this much. Usually about half that amount, but it was all so good. The decor was very nice and the seats were comfortable and supported my back well. My friend had recent surgery and commented on the chair comfort, too.She also ordered ala carte....unsweetened ice tea..guisada taco on flour tortilla and the carne asada taco. The guisada taco is beef chunks tender with light gravy. The carne asada was skirt meat chopped very small. Unfortunately it was very greasy and tough so she could not eat it. The waitress immediately exchanged it for a guisada taco which she said she loved the meat and tenderness. Now that I have tried some foods....I will be going back using the Drive Thru. I am hooked on the yummy tasting puffy chicken taco to which I added a side order of guacamole. The flan was very good!!! And sweetened iced tea. Oh my gosh....so darn good. So there's another meal for me coming again soon.???*Just wanted to add that their puffy chicken taco I like better than any other because the chicken is much more flavorful and it's not sopping wet like most. It's more of a drier consistency which was great so I could enjoy every bite of the puffy taco without it falling apart.* Hope you enjoy??

I have to agree with some of the other posts that the portions are good. The margaritas used to be really great but now they are mainly orange juice, water and lime. I used to get the margaritas in the drive through but stopped when they were constantly giving me garbage. Literally no alcohol and watered down. The drive through can be a little slow at times but not a game changer. I really like the food but can’t comment on the service because I have only ever gone through the drive through. Overall, I really like the food but no longer order margaritas because they are only selling you lime/orange water.

Tried it twice hoping I had a bad experience the first time but both times were not acceptable. First time, I got beef fajita nachos and if that's what they call beef, I shouldn't have given them a second chance. But it's close to the house and I like Mexican food so I gave them a second chance. Next time ordered tacos, including shirp, which was fried....yuk. A bean and cheese, with no flavor, a carne gisada which tasted like dog food, and a chicken fajita that came with white cheese.....and even the white cheese couldn't give this bland taco taste and all were on Mission tortillas or really bad homemade ones. The drive thru staff was friendly, and my only reason for 2 stars, but the food was not worth it. Skip this restaurant unless you're starving, and in that case there is a Taco Bell up the road that will save you some money.

The rice and beans have no flavor, the enchiladas were so..so also no flavor, I would not recommend this place, I should of gone to Las Palapas

Popped in for breakfast this past Saturday. There seems to be no dedicated hostess/host, but a woman who turned out to be our waitress led us to a table. It seems this place used to be another restaurant at some point, and whoever poured their money into it did an impressive job. Hand painted images on the backs of solid wooden chairs, embroidered back cushions, a beautiful mural where everything was done to scale (sometimes you see those murals in restaurants where things are obviously way and the donkey is bigger than the person beside it!) Real attention to detail on the interior. Our service was good. Our waitress was hustling back and forth for the tables in her section! The other section had a different, younger waitress who didn't have the same skip in her step and her section was less full. We could overhear a few nearby tables complaining about the slowness of their service and saw several people waiting a long time to place an order. I was going to get breakfast tacos but when I saw they had pozole on weekends, I went with that. The pozole was pretty good! My only complaint would be that the pork pieces were on the small side and there were a lot of fine "shreds" of meat. When the pieces are that small or fine, they absorb the broth and the flavor of the actual meat gets lost. I would have enjoyed some fresh slices of jalapeño or cilantro as part of the accoutrements to add some kick, the way most places serve it. This came with diced onions and shredded cabbage. DH is a fan of anything "pork chop" with his Mexican breakfast, so he ordered the pork chop plate with two eggs, ranchera sauce, and potatoes. He enjoyed it but said everything was under seasoned, even the sauce, and it ranked in the bottom of his favorite pork chop breakfasts. We also tried a bean and cheese taco because, well, you just gotta! That was a nice taco on a soft, fresh tortilla. We'd definitely drop in again if we're in the Jones Maltberger/Thousand Oaks area!

We waited at the door after 5 min nobody was at the hostess stand. After awhile we were seated. I should have taken that as a sign to leave. At last seated and given a menu. We chose what we wanted and sat there. No drinks no waitress. The parking lot was full but oddly the restaurant was not. My husband was ready to go I said let's give it a few more minutes. Sadly nobody came. We walked out and I don't think they even noticed. Really bad service.

Within the last year we have gone just about once a week to have dinner @ Vallarta Grill & Bar Jones Maltsberger! The manager there and 1 employee have literally watched her grow within this past year! We had already known we wanted to do her 1st birthday there, even though it wasn’t a big party like we wanted we had an amazing dinner there Thursday night! The food is delicious and they have awesome staff!

The place was amazing. I and another family got stuck at the train tracks for over a hour so we were very late to the party. Staff was amazing they got us food and drinks quickly and was so good. I'll definitely go back again. The party was on their patio which was set up great. If the weather is hot they have fans set up, even had a TV. Everything was so comfortable.

Service was so slow I had to go to the bar three times, once for waters, once for appetizer plates and lastly for napkins. Half our appetizer got there and it was cold by the time our tortillas got there. The entire time we were sitting there four kids were running around us bumping our table and chairs. Finally decided to put other tables up against ours so they couldn't get through. The parents did not care. Server was nice but incredibly slow, food was ok, appetizer may have been good if it was warm.

Stopped in on a slow morning table for 2 took a little longer then you'd expect. We had barbacoa plate and green chilaquiles. Nothing really stood out food wise. We did love the decor. Suggestions- For the chilaquiles they poured the salsa on top cold straight from the fridge which caused the dish of eggs to be cold. I'd suggest when the food is just about ready to toss the sauce on top while in the pan heating. Moose Out

I've been here twice. My order has been wrong both times. The last time they didn't even ask what kind of enchiladas I wanted.
