We haven’t eaten here a number of times and it’s sad to say the quality in all aspects has down hill significantly. Absolutely everything in our order was screwed up. Steak tacos consisted of a small portion of meat on a cold tortilla. The cost at this point greatly outweighs quality.

Velvet Taco is not your average taco joint - it's a bold fusion of flavors wrapped in a tortilla. The tacos turn into a flavorful canvas bursting with flavors.
Shrimp Taco & Salmon Taco - 5 stars sooooo savory! Generous amount of shrimp and a generous portion of salmon.
Fish and chips Taco & Smashburger - 5 stars generous portion of fish. Smashburger was the favorite for the guys both wished they had gotten 2.
Steak taco and smashburger - The Distinct Palate Kid loved them!
The vibe is funky, casual, and energetic - perfect for a casual bite with the family or late-night bite. The bold personality can be found in the eclectic art and music in the background. The service was fast and friendly. The staff was helpful and accommodating with one of my custom orders.

Great Tacos, but understand, this isn't a typical San Antonio tex-mex place. You won't find any fajitas, tacos al carbon or bean and cheese. All of the tacos are unique, from the Nashville hot chicken to the shrimp and grits. The variety of tacos is awesome. If you can't find something to like here go back to taco bell. The atmosphere and location are incredible as well. The only drawback is the cost. On average you'll pay about $5 per taco which is a little much but the food was really well prepared and delicious. Part of what you're paying for is the experience, If your looking for something different Velvet Taco is worth it.

The Mexican and the Indian didn't like the fusion. Rice in a chicken Tikka or a beef taco didn't really work for us. Also it didn't taste that good.

Everything we had here was sooo good - plus the customer service was amazing. The ladies working asked if it was our first time here and we chatted with them a bit. They were so nice!
I am vegetarian and it’s hard to find a good taco sometimes or at least one that’s clearly marked with vegetarian ingredients. This place caught my eye right away just because they had options on their menu.
The Cauliflower taco was my favorite and my partner loved the buffalo chicken taco! The elote, guac, queso were great! And to top it off the red velvet cake was literally to die for. You could tell this is all homemade.
Don’t miss this stop!

Tell me why this is my fav taco place. 1. It's open late. 2. Consistency. Those 2 things make it such a convenient option. Lots of locals say these aren't real tacos but let me tell you they're so good. Their queso is phenomenal. 10/10. I recommend the buffalo chicken taco and the bacon smash burger taco omg 🤤 the margaritas are good too. I've always wanted to try their red velvet cake. I'll need to try that 1 day. If you're in the pearl area, you definitely need to try this place out.

On the night of June 23 a decade ago, the San Antonio Spurs bested Detroit for the second championship of the Duncan-Ginobili-Parker era. As the city celebrated the new Finals bling, the rock ‘n’ roll community mourned the death of Ram Ayala, killed that night in a robbery of his bar, Taco Land.
Creative in his profanity and saturated with beer, Ayala had a hard shell — like a near-frozen, potentially sour can at the back of the fridge — covering a generous and giving heart. His libertine candor, a libertarian booking policy and dangerously cheap tallboys made Taco Land a haven for touring and native rock ‘n’ rollers.

Great food and great experience!
We walked right in with no wait, and the menu was displayed clearly on the wall—easy to read and packed with options. I went with a group of five, and we all tried different tacos—every single one was amazing!
I ordered the Chicken & Waffle Taco, and it was my absolute favorite—perfect mix of sweet and salty. I also tried the Birria Duo Tacos (comes with two); they were a bit thin with a smaller amount of meat, but still really flavorful. My husband got the Burger Taco, and it was freaking amazing! The Puffy Taco was also a hit.
We all chose the $14.99 combo, which includes two tacos, a side, and a drink. We picked elote as our side—it was really good. My son ordered a cheese quesadilla from the kids’ menu, which came cut into four pieces with a mix of white and yellow cheese.
For dessert, we had the Red Velvet Cake with Cajeta on the side—absolutely delicious!

My wife and I stopped in absolutely starving, and this place hit the spot in every way. The menu is packed with so many creative taco options that it’s honestly hard to choose—but thankfully, Jeffrey was there to help. He went above and beyond walking us through the menu and making perfect recommendations that totally matched our tastes.
To top it all off, he surprised us with our favorite piece of cake, which made the night even more special. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was fun, and Jeffrey’s service truly stood out. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we’ll be back.
Thank you, Jeffrey

The pasta was creamy.
The food here is amazing and you can’t beat the price for a margarita. If I had to complain about anything, it’s that they don’t have an actual restaurant dine in style, it’s counter service and carry out. And also I wish they would have their seasonal tacos in stock, they never have them
