Was craving Asian comfort food but am very picky (I don't do chains for Asian food) so it was a treat to find this little gem in San Antonio. The owners are so nice (the kids are adorable) and very friendly. But never mind the service, lets get to ambiance and food. Although small, the restaurant is very Instagram-able, all the walls have beautiful or interesting artwork. Very cute! The food was terrific. The chicken karaage was crispy and the sauce was a little unique. Add a little of the Japanese hot chili powder and you're good to go! Both regular and spicy edamame had good seasoning and cooked properly (I hate soggy edamame!). For mains, we had the Chicken fried rice which was tasty. My friend who loves spicy, had the volcano heat bowl with chicken and he said it was delicious and wolfed it down in minutes. What I absolutely loved was the Winter special Yoshiya Beef Udon. The beef was tender and the broth was full of umami, hearty and very satisfying. I ate it all and drank down the last of the broth, too. Highly recommend that you try this place. Owners are originally from Los Angeles and their recipes are on par with my favorite places in LA and SF. If I ever make it back to San Antonio, I'm stopping here for sure!

I've been to the Matsuya locations in Japan a decade ago. This is exactly like the Japanese beef bowls I had overseas. I loved the atmosphere. The people working here were lovely also. Amazing place. 12 out of 10. Definitely would recommend to all my people who miss a good beef bowl.

We LOVED Yoshiya Umami Beef Bowl. My boyfriend ordered the volcano bowl and I ordered the Yoshiya bowl. The Yoshiya had lots of tasty ginger. We both preferred the delicious flavor of the Volcano bowl. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We look forward to returning!

Great hidden gem...stop by and give it a try. Had the beef curry with noodles and 2 small dishes...fantastic and flavorful! Owner was amazing and very welcoming to everyone...will be coming back for more!!!
Food is amazing, my favorite is yoshisoba with beef and shrimp. Been going once a week since we discovered it. Staff is really friendly and inviting, good vibes atmosphere. Its always clean and food is always fresh. We will continue to eat here traditionally.

The atmosphere here is amazing! Love the anime figurines and music!I got the Yoshida beef bowl with 2 veg rolls and miso soup for 14$! Very reasonable and the taste was amazing!My wife got the crispy chicken teriyaki which was also incredible!The staff were very attentive and helpful in their recommendations!Will definitely return multiple times and you should too!
This place is a go to for my daughter and I. We first came here on my daughter’s birthday. The staff is so genuinely friendly. After receiving our bowls a gentleman came over to ask how we liked the meal, as we had told him it was our first time and we came to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. He shortly came back with his staff and sang Happy Birthday in Japanese to her and gave her a tea. This made her day. The food is incredible. I got the beef umami bowl and and we had shrimp tempura as an appetizer. The beef literally melts in your mouth. I always gets extra pickled ginger, and I could eat the shrimp all day long, it’s that good.Parking: Easy in easy outKid-friendliness: The staff is incredibly friendly
