Had bought some benefit tickets and the meal was chicken plates. Tiny quarter leg was over cooked. At least I liked the beans and rice. No jalapenos in the plate. Have to say the chicken is the best smoke at my pit. I have tried Smoky's brisket and that I do like. Anyway it was for a good cause.

Had never eaten hear before. So when a coworker was selling/fundraising BBQ plates I thought this would be great time to help and try their BBQ. If it's good we would should go dine there. Well ... the plate was sad looking and tasted AWFUL. The smell of chicken hit my face when I opened the plate. (You're not suppose to smell chicken unless it's spoiled). Oh and the "BBQ SAUCE" was red and looked/tasted like watered down ketchup. The chicken was so dry and hard/burnt we couldn't eat it. The rice was dry and nothing special to it. The only decent thing was the beans. Sadly those plates told us never dine at Smokey's.

I bought a fundraiser bbq chicken plate, the chicken seemed baked and the leg quarter was so small. Taste wise, it was okay.

Ok so the food is not bad at all. But you better have a toilet in your vehicle ready for some punishment. I really did enjoy the food and service but man.... I contemplated buying a bidet that day. Make sure you have 3 ply underwear on as well. I've eaten at a lot of BBQ places in the RGV but none put my bowels through a ringer like Smokey's

The beef ribs were moist and outstanding. The bean and potato salad sides were equally delicious! Worth the drive, folks!

Hadn't been to Smokeys since the location that was on 495, found out they had a location on Veterans in San Juan, Tx so we went to have lunch. The food is always so good! The chips and salsa is always so good here! We ordered the fajita plate and it was delicious! The side of the restaurant we ate at was right when you walk in. All the other tables on the other side where full. Well, there's a reason for that....the food is the bomb!

You all need to have more pride with your chicken BBQ. We bought over $70 of BBQ plates and your chicken looked like it was oven baked. I know it was for a fundraiser but come on have some pride with your product! Totally disappointed.

You cant go wrong with Smokeys. Love their potatoe salad they serve with meals. Love the taste that their chicken has. Perfectly cooked and crispy skin
