Great breakfast and service. Pricing good. Food served hot and seamed fresh . Good tex mex flavor. Staff friendly and courteous. I gave a three star atmosphere because it's a great restaurant and not there for entertainment or party atmosphere.

If you live in or are visiting San Marcos, you should try to find your way to Chepo's. Especially those who miss that traditional cooking from the Valley or Mexico. They do have some Tex but it's a lot more Mex, from traditional nopales to carne asada, to the agua fresca. This is my new spot for Mexican food when I get a craving.

When we entered, there was a sign that said "please wait to be seated," but the waitress told us to "sit wherever." We sat at a table near other patrons and waited about 12 minutes before asking the busboy for menus. Once we had our menus, the waitress was quick to bring chips, salsa, drinks, and guacamole, but the actual entrée came out slow. After we had our food, the waitress didn't check up for drink refills. We were there for over an hour, as were the customers that came in after us. The food is very TEX-mex, so take that how you like. The parking lot is extremely tiny, and the handicap spot they have isn't very accessible. I think one time is enough for us, even though I really wanted to enjoy it bc of the reviews that I read beforehand.
