We were visiting our two daughters who attend TXST. We had planned to eat at another restaurant, but the wait was very long. So, we walked right into crafthouse. There was a reason there was no wait. First off, our waitress was wonderful. She was attentive and sweet. The food was TERRIBLE. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich, a couple burgers, a breakfast burrito, and brisket hash. The chicken and bread were soggy. The tomato and lettuce had wilted beyond recognition. The only decent meal was the hash. We definitely will not be back on our next visit to town:(.

Me and my friend are massive foodies that love trying out new resteraunts! We were out and about at the square and happened to come across this place! Upon entry it was a bit of a red flag that we weren’t greeted- all the waiters/waitresses were congregating amongst themselves. We overlooked that though and waited about 15mins before we were even attended to- even then we were just handed our drinks before the waitress went off to chat once again with the other employees.It was about 20minutes later when we were finally helped and ordered our food.It took an hour for us to get our appetizers. And thirty minutes more for our food. Food which was cold, bland, and tasted as if it had been sitting out for quite some time. Our waitress didn’t ask once how our food was or anything- only time we ever made real contact with her was ordering and when receiving our check.I’ve worked in a resteraunt industry before and how this expiernece went was completely distasteful. I’m not saying places don’t have their off days but based on older reviews this looks like this is nothing short of new.

No live music Friday night, at least as early as we were there, but I'm old... they did play a nice selection of pre-recorded music. Great atmosphere. Staff super friendly. Food wasn't top notch, but not bad. Prices were good. I'd would come again.

We were here on a Monday night right after New Years and it was obvious that college kids were returning to town and this is a normal hangout for lots of them. It's a neat little place just off the square. I had a simple cheeseburger and fries, but both were very tasty and served to us very hot. They have a great selection of beer and the young lady that served us was very pleasant and helpful, despite having to deal with a pretty large crowd and noisy conditions (College football on the TVs). I would definitely go back and have no problems recommending this place to my friends based on the food alone, but the great service makes it a slam dunk. Give it a go when you're in San Marcos.
First we ordered gin and tonics. Extremely weak drinks, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered something else. Ordered a double tullamore whiskey on the rocks. EXTREMELY watered down. Pic was taken a couple minutes after it came to our table. Rip-off, this is blatant theft.

Stopped in for lunch. Decent atmosphere. Good amount of tvs to catch a game. We got the bobcat cheese fries(brisket and cheese on fries) and it was pretty good and a large amount(feeds 2-3 people). The Hawaiian tacos were ok. The best thing was the Mac and cheese and I'd give it a 4/5. I think this place is more of an events location (GameDay/ music/etc).
