I’ve tried most of the mexican/tex-mex restaurants in the San Marcos area. I can confidently say that my experience here at El Taco Feliz 2 topped any and all of my experiences at those other restaurants. I had the quesa-birria tacos. They were excellent. The birria melted in my mouth — A strong, beefy flavor. They also have a great hot sauce that is bright and wonderful. I’m pretty sure they make it in house. Do not sleep on this place. I will be returning to try several other things on the menu.

My boyfriend brought me the chicken Verde enchiladas today and OMG were they delicious! The chicken was moist and NOT dry like a lot of restaurants. The Verde gravy was unlike any I have ever had. It tasted like a chicken stew sort of. Big flavor. The refried beans and Mexican rice were on point as a side show to the main event. They were average but who cares. The price point is in line with everywhere else in San Marcos.The location is a little out of the way in a cute older neighborhood across from the Mexican meat market.I will definitely try other dishes and add to my review.

Paid $14 for a pastor taco and two aqua frescas. The meat tasted more like carnitas than pastor and was really soggy, I only stomached one bite. 3-4 hours later I had a low grade fever, fatigue, nausea, body aches and chills. It was the only thing I had to eat the whole day.

Misleading advertising, I ordered a roast beef on the menu, it looked delicious and once served, nothing resembles it, instead of slices of avocado they put already black guacamole, and the onion was fried with the nopal and the image on the menu is some onions roasted and a whole nopal and the meat was cold. The truth is I didn't feel like it

We come here often after moving to San Marcos last year and we love the food. This is by far our favorite spot for breakfast in San Marcos. We have also tried lunch and dinner plates and everything is very good and customer service is always excellent. Highly recommend giving it a try!
