Parking and doors were confusing to start. Sampled the potato salad it was a no. Ordered the sausage, ribs and beans…. All luke warm, beans were actually cold. I spit out the sausage. Rib was decent but cold. Sweet tea wasn’t sweetened. Son’s brisket sandwich was ok, definitely not worth $20. Macaroni was AWFUL. Dry, cold, looked like mush. Will never be back. Total waste of $50.

Probably the worst, most overpriced, dried out brisket/chicken/sausage I’ve ever had. For $128 for a family of 4 it was definitely NOT worth the price or the hype. You’re better off going to Bill Miller’s.

This is the 2nd time we have went to this place. This first was years ago (at least 3) and we were very displeased. Since it’s a local, we visited again and to my surprise it was even worse….
The food (all of it) was dry and under seasoned. The 2 good things we got was corn and the chocolate stuff.
The brisket was possible the worst I’ve had, flavor didn’t carry on through out, it was very greasy and not in a good way.
The chicken was underwhelming in flavor but was a bit more moist than the brisket. The sausage yep, also sausage - (we ordered a lot) was dry and also lacked flavor.
The beans were dry again lacking flavor.
Ribs were also quite lackluster.
I made a comment to my brother, not sure how this place is in business, I can’t say I’ll ever come back to this place. I shudder at the dissatisfaction I had.
The security kitties outside were a joy. Keep them on staff! Additionally your staff was an absolute pleasure to talk to and order with. They were all fun, and engaging., I just wish I could say the same for my dinner …..

Folks behind the counter were patient with our large group. Jalapeno sausage has the right amount of spice, the turkey was most and well seasoned, and even the lean brisket was fall apart tender.

I love the customer service at this place! We ordered the fatty brisket, which was so moist and tender and the delicious ribs. The staff that served us (2 guys) were very knowledgeable and a bonus they attended txst so they gave us helpful information on San Marcos. The manager (female) also excellent customer service. When we are in town we always stop by and it never disappoints!

Hardly any flavor to anything. Everything was practically cold to Luke warm at best. The gravy had this weird flavor - almost like someone mixed their cigarette ashes in it or something. Expected more since I see all the bill boards and such for it. But it seems to just be a small chain with subpar food at best.
Blacks has franchised and they have done an excellent job on quality control as the brisket location to location is great. Is it the best? Its excellent here and in other locations.

Tasty Texas BBQ. Got the 2 meat sandwhich with two sides. The brisket could have been a little juicer, but the turkey, potato salad and macaroni and cheese were really good. There iced tea was really good, too.

I first want to say I am a regular at Blacks. Usually going at least twice a week. Tues. is half price sandwiches and usually the meat portions are just fine BUT today it was horrible. I filled the buns that come with the sandwich with a whole lot of fat. I know that brisket is gonna have fat. Idk, my question are the young ones working there properly trained on how to cut these meats. All I'm saying, please do better. I wanna keep giving my business to Black's but seriously work on this situation. And yeah, I could gone back to voice my concern and ask for a better sandwich but after working an 8 hrs shift I didn't want to go back.
