The staff is great. The only thing that got a star knocked off was the dirty rice. The ettouffe was amazing #1 thing we tried. We had crawfish and shrimp. Hush puppies were very good. The red beans and rice was also good. The gumbo was average.

I’ve been wanting to try this place and finally got the opportunity to visit - and with a friend who is from LA.
We ordered:
-Boudin balls. SO good and priced right at $7 for 3 well-seasoned with a teeny tiny kick of spice slightly-larger-than-golf-ball balls. Served hot and fresh out of the fryer.
-Oyster po’boy with seasoned fries. The oysters were a little on the smaller side, but well-seasoned and fried just right. They use a cornmeal batter that was a little heavy, but had a nice crunch. The sandwich is served with lettuce and tomatoes on unremarkable bread. (You have to ask for onions.)
The seasoned fries tasted like they were sprinkled with Old Bay. Definitely all the “powders.” Very, very good. Again, served hot and fresh out the fryer.
-Catfish plate with coleslaw and mac & cheese. The catfish was *the* star of our meal. The fillets were whole fillets. Big, fat, thick fillets that were seasoned and very lightly battered and fried. HOT and oh so juicy! I could eat that every day of the week! (The tartar sauce was a little thin/runny, but maybe because it wasn’t in the fridge(?(.
Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of vinegar-based coleslaw. So I won’t rate it. But it looked fresh!
The mac & cheese was good. Thick cheese sauce and soft elbow macaroni. The kind your favorite auntie brings to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.
-Fried okra. The okra was fresh out of the fryer and crisp. Just a tad under seasoned but nothing some salt didn’t solve.
-The sweet tea is good. Like reallly good. Not bitter or tastes old. IYKYK.
Unassuming little place with tables and booths. Some NO decor, but the kind of place that makes their name from their food, not their “vibe.”

I found myself neat Walzem Rd and Hwy 78 today around lunch time today. One place that has been on my list for a while was Nuttin Betta a cajun seafood restaurant off Walzem and Midcrown. Our waitress was very friendly and ansered all my questions. After looking over the menu and all the great choices i ordered the crawfish etouffee with 6 jumbo grilled shrimp and a side of fried okra. When the food was brought out I was impressed with the serving size. The flavor was on point for the etouffee and the shrimp was some of the best I've had in a while. The hushpuppies were awesome and the fried okra may be the best I've had. Y'all will have to pardon my pictures, I was so excited I forgot to take the as served pictures.😉 I'm looking forward to going back and trying some of the other menu items. If you haven’t been to Nuttin Betta you should give them a try. They are at 5514 Walzem Rd, San Antonio, Tx 78016

I ordered through Uber eats. There DoorDash doesn’t have all items and doesn’t do it justice so if you plan to ordering use Uber eats! This is some of the best food I think I’ve ever had in my LIFE. I can tell this is a passion project and the people cooking the food are making it with love! My order came hot and fresh. They packed it up perfectly for me and make sure I had sauce. I had the crawfish étouffée and my boyfriend had the catfish. We were both extremely impressed and their Boudin balls were so delicious as well! Looking forward to eating here again

So happy we made the trip to try something new! The food was delicious and the service was superior. I had the Catfish Bayou which had nice flavor. My husband had the Signature Plate (blackened) and he enjoy every bite, down to the hush puppies! We bought sides a la carte and our boys tore them up. The server was absolutely delightful! As was every other staff member. The vibes were welcoming and a perfect place for family. We will most definitely be back! ❤️
