Oh my gosh! Everyone at our wedding was floored by our cake. We had the strawberry layer and the pineapple layer. It was moist and delicious. We only had one piece left. Everyone wanted to know where it came from. We couldn’t have been any happier with the process or the cake. It was decorated exactly as we wanted. Thank you Pennington’s Cakes.

I ordered a jirachi cake for my best friend and it came out so freaking awesome definitely recommend and staff were very friendly and helpful

Pennington's Cakes was absolutely incredible to work with for our wedding! They created a beautiful dessert bar that everyone loved — lemon bars, sugar cookies with the sweetest wedding-themed icing, rich brownies, and even some gluten-free cupcakes (which our gluten-free guests couldn’t stop raving about!). I wanted a simple, lemon cake with minimal vanilla icing and it turned out and tasted just how I wanted it! So good!

They were so patient with my indecisiveness, super responsive, and somehow managed to pull everything together on a very short turnaround. Everything looked amazing and tasted even better. Highly recommend Pennington Cakes for anyone wanting delicious desserts and wonderful service!

Its been a couple of years since we last ordered from Penningtons. We are visiting from New Mexico where we live now and I got my cake today. You did not disappoint taste, color and design were perfect. We have ordered many birthday cakes and a 50th Anniversary cake for my parents. I totally recommend Pennington Cakes for your next cake.

Spelled the birthday girls name wrong- in two different ways. Despite being reminded twice over the phone, WITH TWO SEPARATE PHONE CALLS! (Called specifically for this reason) Guys, you can’t spell Raegan right? Who is reagen? Let’s do better next time 👍

I was very disappointed with both the communication and the quality of my order. From the start, communication was unclear and unprofessional, which made coordinating the details more stressful than it should have been. When the cake arrived, it did not match the reference photos I provided, the colors and design were noticeably off, and the overall finish lacked attention to detail. On top of that, the cake had an off-putting taste (terrible to be honest) that made it difficult to enjoy. For the price and expectation of a custom cake, I anticipated a much higher level of professionalism, quality, and flavor. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling let down, and I wouldn’t recommend this business for special occasions where reliability and quality matter most.

Very disappointed with this order. First of all, I have purchased quite a few cakes from them for family Birthday’s throughout the years. Always enjoyed them. This time very disappointed because my son in law asked me where could he order a cake his wife(my daughter)would enjoy . All the way from Oklahoma he wanted to surprise her for her 30th birthday and ordered ahead of time to pick up. He arrived at 8:45. They are supposed to open at 9:00. They show up at 9:20 with a bad attitude . Of course my son had his vehicle set with his AC low in the vehicle. 20 minute drive. When he gets home “SURPRISE”. Frosting melted pretty bad. I understand things happen. What really disappointed me is when I called back to discuss the issue, literally showed they didn’t give a care. When I tried calling back, of course they didn’t answer. Again I do understand things can go wrong. What really bothered me was the customer service and what they said, once the cake leaves, it is not our issue!

I had come to Penningtons to have my wedding cake made. When going in for the cake testing the owner was nice and promised that we would be happy with our purchase. I had wanted a geode cake with purple, pink, and gold accents, with a almond flavored cake and a raspberry lemon drizzle.
On the day of the wedding, the owner quickly dropped off the cake and quickly left despite my husband-to-be attempting to speak him. We were horrified when looking at the cake, because it looked like a woman's sexual bits.
When eating the cake it tasted nothing like what we had tried on the day of our cake testing and it also made my husband's mouth numb, which it hadn't when we tested.
To say the least, I was very disappointed with my experience and it was not worth my $500. I will not be purchasing any more items from this shop.

I recently ordered custom cookies for a baby shower. The process was very easy and the cookies were beautiful and ready on time. The shower guests made many positive comments about the appearance of the cookies, and the texture and flavor. They were a hit!

We ordered both our wedding cake and groom’s cake from here and overall had a great experience. The wedding cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing—exactly what we hoped for on our big day. While there were mistakes made with the groom’s cake, the team was quick to take accountability and handled it with professionalism and grace. They issued a refund without hesitation, which we truly appreciated. Mistakes can happen, but the way they responded showed great customer service. Thank you for being a part of our special day!

Pennington’s Cake was so unbelievably delicious and not to mention quite beautiful. They did everything I could have asked for and blew me away with their designs. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the cakes yet because I just got married yesterday but we did a beautiful 3 tier wedding cake with pineapple filling and then a super cool grooms cake that had a strawberry filling. My Husband is not a cake person at all but he loved the cake so much he picked the strawberry flavor because it was so delicious. The ironic thing is he actually has an intolerance to strawberry but it was THAT delicious. The grooms cake was designed like a golf course and we had a cake topper that had a bride dragging the groom off the course. It was so delicious and so beautiful. Thank you Pennington’s!

This was legitimately the best tasting wedding cake I’ve ever had. Goodbye wedding dress, because I’m probably never gonna fit in it again after snarfing leftover cake from the reception.

I ordered a cake from here for my best friend so she could be surprised with the gender of her baby. I live out of state, so I was just googling places in San Marcos and came across Pennington's Cakes. The customer service was outstanding! They were so easy to work with and did an incredible job- even going to far as to not show her the order ticket so she wouldn't accidentally see anything ahead of time! I am so happy that I found Pennington's and would definitely recommend them. Thank you so much for your incredible service and professionalism!

After using Pennington for the past 9 years for all special occasions I finally had to tell myself as much as I love the final product and as much as I love the quality of the cakes I have to let yall go. For 9 years I have never been givin an ounce of respect as a customer. The owners are just flat out rude ! for the pass 3 years i had still been ordering here but had family members pick up the cakes to avoide the hostile environment here. Ive been yelled at and belittled by the owners on numerous occasions and being non confentational person I just took it an let them while I kept my mouth shut. It came to the point where they started charging me crazy prices for cakes when in the past they had made me similar cakes for 400$ less that what they were asking, almost as if they just wanted to not serve me but instead of refusing service they would upcharge me like crazy. That was the last straw w me and I did bring that problem to their attention and the woman owner just laughed in my face like hahaha yea so you don't want the cake right. It's sad all these years I've supported their buisness hoping that maybe they were just having bad days when I'd call or go in to order but it's been 9 years and in come to the conclusion they're just ugly to certain people. As per the buisness reply you can literally feel.the hostility . It's a family business regardless the owner and his family works here and they feel entitled and will treat you unfair. This is to rate my over all 9 years of experience with this bakery I have many more cakes I can upload I did state the quality was always up to par that's why I waited so long to post I just had had it with their ugly customer service as you can see from their reply.
