08MAR24 4.5 still a big happy fan CHEESEBURGER has subtler flavor than others I've tried here; eat it without additional sauce and it does taste just like a cheeseburger. I enjoyed the finely chopped pickles in there. Filling was generous as always. CHOCOLATE FUDGE I'm old enough to remember Hostess pies at gas stations and the best choices were cherry, lemon, or chocolate pudding. This was everything I loved about childhood memories but in a better, flakier, not over sweet crust. Dusted with sugar, a perfect ending after my burger empanada and alcapurria. I'm a food evangelist, really, and while I prefer to share in best conditions I'd ordered a couple items to share before the store opened again for business the next day: Mr R arrived on a late flight and got his first taste of this place. He's observing lent so I got him a spinach/mushroom/potato/cheese and at two in the morning he happily inhaled it cold, sans sauces, in the car. He's mentioned how good it was several times in the twelve hours since. Also got him the smaller size of MALTA GOYA, a non-alcoholic drink from hops and barley. Sweet but not your average Coke/soda level of sweet, and unlike anything he'd had before, apparently. I thought it worth trying as he's into beer and this was within his dietary rules for the next few weeks. Also had previous plans to quickly meet a friend about a small task and knew she'd have someone else in tow. I brought them each an alcapurria, a vegetarian empanada like Mr R enjoyed, the house pink special and cilantro sauces, and one apple pie to share. Oh! Also a PINEAPPLE SODA for each of them. Rather than take them home, they decided to pop them in the microwave and try them right then. Perhaps they were just being kind, but they did seem more than happy to dispatch the savory choices and soda while we were together and said they were delicious. This was not a cheap order, but it averaged more pies per head than the 1.5 pies I find it usually takes to fill a person, I got everyone a drink, plus I paid to have it delivered. Zero regrets, everyone is happy.

Best place is San Marcos!!! 10/10 would recommend!!! I’ve ordered from this place many times and the food never disappoints. The staff is super friendly and went out of their way to make sure I still got my food especially after having issues with Grubhub. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!!
I can not adequately explain to you in words how good these empanadas are. My boyfriend and I have been to this place at least 4 times and have not yet eaten an empanada that doesn’t make us have an out of body flavor experience. Our personal favorites are the pastelon, pepperoni pizza, chicken, potato, and cheese, and literally every single dessert pie, but they’re all unearthly and delicious. Get more than 1 when you go, you’re gonna end up going back for more.
The food was amazing!!! These are real empanadas through and through. The service was also great, I will be recommending this place to everyone!

They went above and beyond! I had ordered from UberEats and my driver dropped the ball, couldn’t pick up. I get a call from the owners and they offered to deliver it to me after they noticed the error. It was too cool to see people go out of their way to ensure someone is taken care of. Really appreciated the effort and the food was WORTH the wait! Wishing this business nothing but the best

So...I ordered delivery and even though I'm not too far away they arrived perfectly packaged like someone really cared about presentation and crispy as if they were just pulled out of the oven or fryer. Then, I look into the bag and see this (pic below). Apparently, they are so invested in their craft of delighting the taste buds of their patrons that they just include free amazing food! Score! The plantains were tender and caramelized and delicious and they weren't even what I payed for or ordered. What I did order though was as so very scrumptious! The Birria was tender and savory, the mushroom cheese was delightful and the strawberry cheesecake was to die for. Please support this wonderful establishment; you can taste the care and consideration that goes into the food and in a time where chain restaurants dominate our economy please support a local grub hero!

Some of the best pies you're going to find in the entire state, made with fresh and tasty fillings. They also tend to run weekly specials which really are aptly named. Just absolutely delicious and the owners are some of the nicest people I've met in a long time.
