Prices are high for too little. Service wasn't great. There was an event going on and one person behind the counter creating a long line. A second employee came in and started letting people in the middle of the line come to her. The only reason I'd go back is for Shaws of Awe.

I've been coming here for ages, and it's even better since it reopened post-Covid. Staff is amazing and friendly, food is delicious and they have options for everyone (GF bread, vegan food, meats, etc.). Favorites of mine are the build your own tacos and the hummus plate. Everything is loaded up with fresh ingredients.
It's a local live music venue as well, fun and sometimes family-friendly depending on the band. There's a mostly fenced-in area with lots of picnic seating and chalk is available too for kids. The maté they make is so clean-tasting. All the coffee I've had here, from drip to fancy lattes, have been the best in town. They also have a great workspace/indoor seating area that's generally quiet and a nice vibe with a selection of well-spaced tables. In the winter it does get a bit chilly if you're in the back room, so bring a sweater! It's cozy, and they feature local artists each quarter. Come support a San Marcos staple.

Emily served me one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had in my life! The vibe here is chill and awesome. Open, clean, fresh. Love it!
Owner used my subscription service, cocktailcalc, and let his subscription renew. He emailed me saying he didn't need it anymore and I went to refund it, only to find that he'd issued a chargeback. You'd think one small business owner would be nicer to another and realize the fees that incurs, but no.
Oh well, take one star.

Quaint little coffee shop with amazing service. We split the homemade hummus, pita and veggie plate. Everything was excellent. Nice art on the walls. It was cold outside, we had hot coffee to warm us up. But will come back on a warm day to hang out on the patio.
