Wineaux is just getting started, but I've already stopped in several times, as It is an absolute pleasure every time. I've chatted a bunch with Peggy, I've also met Mike and Rutherford, and they're all so knowledgeable and just lovely to be around. Peggy often plays silent films on a screen, as well as lovely music. I love that I'm able to find wine here that I can't find anywhere else, as well as chat and get proper recommendations from actual Sommeliers. It's an absolute pleasure....read full review

Wineaux is a great local owner-operator business located in downtown San Marcos. It offers a nice Port for social gatherings and a selection of European wines at reasonable prices for drinking, sharing, or carrying out. The bar is very relaxing and friendly for adults. Wineaux is run by sommeliers that love their craft and ensure all of their wines are unique to the area; no one within 100 miles has the same wine. Guests can taste a Spanish white wine that gives stone fruit at the beginning with a long, lovely honey finish, and many find it a new favorite. The place has rare wines you will not find anywhere else in the area but with an affordable price list, and some choice beers, too. Live acoustic music every Friday by talented local musicians plays in an intimate, listening room environment. Staff is knowledgeable and well versed in the selections, and the bar is considered the best wine bar in Central Texas with the largest selection of Old World wine, including some of the best French and Italian not found in local stores.
