Horrible service , they rolled eyes at me when I had questions about types of meat ... Don't come here
I came in about 30-45 mins before closing so I was expecting to have some food not available but they had everything I wanted available and the staff were all very kind, service was quick as well. This is the only location I would recommend as others aren’t up to par as this one has been.

Note to self, avoid a Rudy’s tied to a gas station. Asked for lean sliced beef sandwich. Received a small portion of untrimmed beef brisket that tasted old. Bun looked like it had been crushed. I won’t be back.

OK, I get why this place may get mid reviews by folks who are spoiled with the best BBQ in the world, but for the rest of us normies from out of state (Michigan in my case), this is S-tier BBQ that we can't find back home.
I'm sure there are better, but there is nothing to complain about. It's very good in my opinion. Friendly staff. Lack of A/C a bit of a minus, but it's a road-side BBQ joint.

Ordered online and a problem occurred but they took care of me right away, everyone who I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Especially David at the cash register who went a step further to help me out while also helping other customers. The baked potatoes, cream corn and banana pudding smacked too🔥

Ohh mama, this is good 👌
I requested one pound of moist brisket, with sauce on the side. When i unwrapped the order, i literally had 4 slices with more fat than meat. The meat that i had was very good, but i paid alot of money for fat. I was very disappointed.

No longer worth it. I have been a Rudy's Fan for 20 years. Rudy's has always been the go to for family and friends when they visit from out of town. Today I went to Rudys by myself for lunch. I ordered my usual half brisket, potato salad, cole slaw, peach cobbler and a Topo Chico. I was shocked to be charged $32. I thought maybe the cashier made a mistake. In the not so distant past this was a $20 meal. I get it, beef prices are higher. It was not the cost of brisket that surprised me. There has been a significant increase in the cost of sides and drinks. After today Rudy's lost me as a customer. The food is good but hardly worth it. There are better choices in San Antonio that are not priced so high.

i have been to a lot of Rudy's stores but this was the worst. The quality of the meat was horrible. I asked for extra lean brisket but did not get it. I asked for sausages and they were not sliced (this bothered me because in over 20 years of eating Rudy's, this was the first time it happened), the turkey was inedible, and the meat was cold. There were flies around the meat as it was being cut for customers. My food was covered, but flies landed on other customers' meat. I told the cashier they had a fly problem and she commented the store was open air and the fact that the store in New Braunfels did not have the issue because it was an enclosed, franchise store. I only stopped there because I was coming from San Antonio and it was on the way. In the future, I will certainly go the store in New Braunfels.

My wife took me to Rudy's bbq for Father's day as we both love their bbq . Although the food was very tasty as always we were both disappointed at their portion sizes we both ordered 1/2 lb of baby back ribs and the 4 rib sizes were no bigger then the fingers of a average hand the smallest your pinky finger ! Our side portions of cream corn and bbq beans were disappointing as well when I ask if server could add more to the portions since it didn't come close to being full server said they no longer can do that due to hot contents being to hot ! Really ! How many children do they have buying their food ? We are adults and have yet to burn ourselves in the past at Rudy's or any other bbq restaurant . In my opinion we didn't get our money's worth with their rib serving size or their portion sides and next time will go eat at blacks bbq , Angie's or smoke shack bbq where they their portion are made for Texans not elementary field day lunch sacks
The meats were amazing - esp the briskets. Was not a fun of the Mac and Cheese and the corn was a little too sweet for me. Choose the family option to share and was just enough for 4 people with medium appetite
The restaurant and store actually closes at 9pm. We visited on 5/30 around 8pm and the brisket had no flavor and was extremely tough and chewy and cold. The sides were the best part, which they never seem to fail on this aspect. The bathroom had a horrible stench and gnats covered the walls and mirrors. The restaurant actually closes at 9pm- as we were heading back out to buy dessert, the door was closing at 9pm.
Great flavors, outdoor patio dining with great music.
This location doesn’t have the pulled pork (to die for…) but the chopped is a really good substitute!
Also love how they support our troops and first responders!
I've been coming to this restaurant for two days before 9:30 and they have their doors closed at 10:00. I don't recommend coming here because they don't keep to their schedules.
