I have some family in from out of town & we’d figured it was the perfect time to stop by! everyone left full & happy! everything was delicious … the sauces, the meats, the sides, the punch, & the dessert! will definitely be back for more & will also be sure to recommend to others ☺️

The Purple Pig was recommended to me, and I recommend this outstanding BBQ eatery enthusiastically. The best pulled pork BBQ I've eaten has been in Tennessee. Nothing to compare. We'd pick up frozen pulled pork in Tennessee and bring it back to Texas as a treat. Nothing to compare until our first visit to The Purple Pig in June. Meets and exceeds our high standards to perfection. Don't miss this delightful experience. There are many things that makes the pulled pork extraordinary. Quality. Pecan smoked, not common to Texas. Wonderful sides. Add to the excellence of the food is the service and the quaint, charming setting. Five stars.

Delicious! That's the review! Here are the deets.. my hubby had been here a few times but it was my first. I asked one of the staff what would you recommend to a first timer she says with conviction, The Rib tips! I agree and I order baked beans and potato salad for sides. Because in my opinion if you can't get those sides right, you have no business putting the word BBQ next to your business's name. People let me tell you the Purple Pig deserves to have BBQ next to the name! My rib tips were so tender and good I had to make myself stop eating them or I'd embarrass myself in front of my mother in law! The sauce was so good and the way it stuck to the bread! Yummy! You know what I mean! That bbq flavor and the sauce makes the bread a little toasty and soaks into the bread! For my hubby's meal he had pulled brisket green beans and Mac n cheese. Decent but I'd say the rib tips is where it's at. Hubby says he'll go back to the rib tips next time too. He tried the brisket to get something different but we agreed, my food was waaay better than his. We're used to tender & juicy sliced brisket and this shredded like pulled pork and ok. Regarding the interior, there is indoor and outdoor seating available. I love the cute hints of purple to play off the restaurant's name but trust me you may wanna eat your food at home lest you embarrass yourself in front of strangers.. but who cares, they don't know you! Eat in and don't worry about having bbq all over your hands and face possibly your clothes because you won't care! It's that good!
For dessert we split a tasty peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.. it had the perfect ratio of peaches, crust and peach syrup. Very good!

Got the pulled chicken and brisket sandwich Service was excellent and the place was immaculately clean…and I wanted to love the food Since id heard so many great things and the sandwiches were not great…buns were so soft and that was the only good thing. The chicken was soooo dry and with the bbq sauce sooo thick it didn’t do much to save the sandwich since it was served on the side same went for the brisket which was dry but had sauce on it so it wasn’t the worst.
I love this military family run business. BBQ always hot and tasty. The BBQ parfaits are my favorite and a must try. Get there early because the room is sure to fill up. Much respect to the Herrons!

This place is phenomenal. I'm obsessed with the creamed corn. The meat and BBQ sauce was amazing. I got the pulled chicken sandwich and my husband got the brisket plate. Meat was perfect it didn't even need BBQ sauce. If you want fantastic delicious BBQ this place is for you. The atmosphere was super cute, and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I'm definitely coming back.

Awesome food and awesome management. I ordered in the restaurant for take out and while waiting the manager approached me and said my charge for my order was accidentally rang up wrong. She credited me for the overcharge that I wouldn't have never noticed...wow! Purple Pig (PP) management have second to none integrity!! Highly recommend PP, this local favorite restaurant.
