waitstaff doesn't know menu nor want to check with the someone who does. poor customer service on phone during non rush hours. Had to ask 3 questions on just one food item to find out it had bacon in it. So far 1 star

We’ve been a few times and have figured out the best times to go for great food were the peak rush hours; any other time will surely disappoint. That fresh fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, roll, and sausage with sauerkraut! Or turkey and dressing with cranberry sauce, yams and cornbread 🤤🤤

Service, on the other hand, always seems to be a miss; morning, noon or night.

Our favorite is the Sunday lunch buffet. It’s like stepping back in time to the good ole days, eating Sunday lunch at grandma’s house. It just reaches that special place in your memories and takes you back. 😪

Buffet goes, over and beyond I went in the afternoon and everything the peach cobbler the sides the corn bread the veggies the chicken and pork chops on point, they are constantly adding more. Reminds me of a retro Cracker Barrel & Bukees had a baby if your traveling through, pay them a visit extremely laid back attire but don't mind that the food and people are top notch.

I was greeted soon as I walked in I don’t know her name but I left a tip. She was an older black lady with great hospitality took her time to help me she didn’t have to but she did it all with a smile thank u. I’ll be back soon.

We have eaten here hundreds of times before. On this trip, we didn’t not see any of the people we normally saw. Food was as good as ever, but the service was horrible. No one approached us for our drink order in 15 minutes. We had to go find the hostess to get a glass of water and utensils. They never brought us a ticket; we went to the front and checked out without one. It seemed very chaotic with people trying to get butter for their pancakes. Is there new ownership? My husband has been dining there for more than 50 years.

Delicious authentic German & Czech cuisine. Must have stopped between Huston and San Antonio or on the way from SPI to DFW!

Renita was wonderful and so is the rest of the staff. I like the name placement cards on the tables, it helps me to remember my waitresses name and makes for a more personable experience. And 17.00 for an all you can eat buffet with what is on it is a good price.

Aid here twice for breakfast Saturday and Sunday, October 11 and 12. Their breakfast buffet is outstanding and I ordered their country fried steak on Sunday and it was really good. Service is good wholesome food and it’s worth the money and it’s not even really that expensive and you’re not leaving Hungary.

We stopped here to grab a bite on our way home from San Antonio. Everyone was very kind and the food was delicious. We chose the to go buffet. Price was great for everything. Meat options were fried chicken, turkey & gravy, pork ribs, sliced sausage. Sides were pinto beans, potatoes salad, corn, mashed potatoes, greens. Soup, salad and dessert. We will most definitely be back. The little store connected to it had lots of goodies too.

Awesome service by Kathy I got buffet and definitely was delicious very hearty and wholesome food, and dessert! Can't beat the price, or the service! I left very satisfied, yet still wanting more will come back on next trip. Got to keep trucking 🚚

We eat here every time we go to Schulenberg. The buffet is excellent, packed with chiclen, ribs, mac n cheese, tuna, greens, cornbread, dessert, etc. Every item on the menu is awesome. To add to that is a country store with candies, cold boxes of treats and drinks, pies and jerky just to name a few items. There are several large dining areas and plenty of parking. It's a real trip to the past and wonderful. I highly recommend this place!!
